No this hotel is not a cheapy and that is why our expectations were quite high. Still, breakfast and the wellness area were even better than we expected. The personel at breakfast excused for the inconvience due to renovation. What inconvience? They were super friendly, made my day with the worlds best cappuccino and made terrific waffles and any desired (organic!) eggs. Accompanied with a smile and style.

But really what a hotel is about to me is a good comfy night's sleep. And there we had a problem. Nothing wrong with the beds, they were good. Our room was way too warm. We thought. But we were not the only ones to think so. When we told the reception, a technician was at our room within minutes. Unfortunately, there was no technical problem. This was as cool as it could get. We could open the window... A hotel with this price and standard, I think, should not have this issue. I must add that the general manager responded directly that they look into this matter.
The same with the apparently new revolving door. When you get stuck in it like I and at least one other guest did... Well...you are just stuck. Until someone else activates the door from the inside or outside. Don't expect the people at the reception to see or hear you. As mentioned, this issue should also been taken care of.

The underground public transport is just a couple minutes walk from the hotel (cheap day and family tickets!) so once you get one of the free parking spaces around the hotel, or a paid parking spot in their garage (easier with a little car or better driving skills for small places) you don't need it.

All in all it is pretty likely that i will return to this hotel and check if they kept their promise. If only it were for the breakfast and wellness area.

Room Tip: Don't be fooled in paying extra for a superior room. The cheapest classic rooms do face a street, this is true, but are not noisier nor have a less favorable view (on the Westphalia halls) than the more expensive rooms. I think.

Dear Spader2, thank you for taking your time to send us your feedback concerning your stay in our hotel. We are very happy that you recommend our breakfast and espacially our service team, so it might be good news that renovation is almost finished. The new buffet area is completed, the new carpet and chairs are expected in the middle of next january.
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the revolving door, it was renewed this automn and it subjects to supervision of latest safety standards of german TÜV, which allows the speed of turning you experienced during your stay and stops immediately when you get in touch with the doors.
However we hope to see you again in Dortmund and get the chance to spoil you again with cappuccino, smile and style.
Our best regards, i.A. Larissa Schlotthauber, Resident Manager

Just one of those business hotels, in the middle of nowhere, but a business sidtrict of Dortmund. Good hotel, great facilities, just missing the free wireless/wired internet. The restuarant was great, just too expensive with a bottle of WATER priced at EUR 8 !!! Tood bad.

Dear MiamiKeyWest, thank you for taking the time to give us a feedback concerning your stay at our hotel. "Restaurant was great" you reported, so it might be good news that renovation in our restaurant "Davidis" happens right now and hopefully at the end of december 2012 it will be even better and its look will appear more contemporary!

I stayed in the Pullman Dortmund in early November while working at an expo nearby. I would have no hesitation in recomending this hotel, particularly to business travellers, as the service was first class and included a modenr business centre and complimentary black & white printing and excellent value if you needed colour copying.

All the staff were very polite and friendly, food was excellent and room very comfortable although perhaps a little too warm.

I've stopped here several times on business and have been really impressed. The hotel is nice, the rooms are to a very high standard, I like the "age reversing" breakfast- though I think this lost something in translation. It's near the underground station and about a 15 minute walk into town.
There are a couple of nice pubs and restaurants nearby and the stadium is close too.

This is a great hotel. The deluxe rooms have free minibar included and the breakfast buffett is excellent. They have fresh pancakes, wafers to order, you get champagne and also there is an organic corner with cheese and sausages from local farmers. The rooms are all clean and the employees are nice. They are always ready to help you and give you good advices what to do in the city. The stadium with many concerts and sports events is just a 2 minute walk.

Room Tip: choose the deluxe rroms, the are more quiet and bigger for just a couple of euros more.
