“Good location but dirty and noisy rooms”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2014 via mobile

Pior to arrival awaited confirmation advice from property none recivced.Emailed arrival time as requested on booking no response, had to phone.Advised by staff member that we booked three rooms when in fact is was one.

On arrival main entrance to hotel was
tagged and dirty.
On opening main door to room it fell off.
Given an other room facing road,it was dirty, we had asked for double and got two single beds.It was supposed to be an apartment but if you needed kicthen implements you have to pay extra.
The refrigerator door was held together by tape. Both nights very noisy outside, drunks etc . Last morning woken at 6am there were 6 police cars on road outside as drunks were fighting.
The shame of it is that with a bit of care it could be a realy nice place in a reasonable location close to the city center.

This apartment/hotel rooms are at best very basic. The main part of room consisted of a double bed, wardrobe and a small table, you also get a 2 ring hob and a fridge with a couple of cupboards as the kitchen part of the room ut you only get a frying pan and a single saucepan with very little utensils and cutlery, in my opinion it would be better to ditch the kitchen area and instead make the room a better standard.

The hotel was well located though only a few minutes away from the city centre and the main christmas markets, there was also a small market in the gardens over the road. The hotel is next door to a couple of supermarkets with long opening hours. In the vicinity there are many bars and restaurants.

Room Tip: Higher floors and those at the rear of the hotel will be quieter

A group of us went to Köln to see the Photokina trade show - but wanted a good budget accomodation and found this.

It is located very conveniently close to the Köln-West railway station as well as the Hans-Böckler Platz underground. Only a couple of minutes easy walking.

Rooms were bright and clean and with all the essential amenities. There is a small kitchenette in each room - this is where you make your breakfast if you do not eat out. The hotel does not serve breakfast.

There are several food stores close by where you can find any essential items for your morning meal.

There are several restaurants in the close area and even more if you care to go another couple of hundred meters to the Friesenplatz.

Negatives: Only minor! WiFi would have been nice. The equipment (pots pans plates) in the kitchenettes could have been added to. And at the time there was some construction work going on in the entrance. Tiny tiny things to possibly improve on but on the whole we were impressed to find such a good hotel close to the city center at this price!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back are more quiet and some (like #21) have their own patio area!

Stayed here during the Furniture Fair when all hotels are booked and/or charge ridiculous prices.

This is a simple, clean, hotel where you can have a good night of sleep. Prices are reasonable for Koln, location is good at 10 minutes walk from the City Center. Many nice restaurants nearby.

Would go there again.
