The hotel is well subscribed to and the rooms are starting to show signs of age, but the beds were fine and everything worked. Breakfast was very good but make sure you get an inclusive rate otherwise they have a laugh!! Car park under hotel is convenient and costs just a bit more than the public car park. At the weekends, the street/area is very busy till very late as there are lots of bars etc. Although we did not use the restaurant, the food we saw being served looked very good.

Room Tip: High floor at the back are quieter and have a rooftop view.

Ordinairy hotel at the city centre of Cologne. It's a big average hotel, the rooms are well equipped, average size, clean but a bit worn, not cheap, but not too expensive. All in all it's nothing special not for the bad, not for the good. The price we paid was a fair value for money.

The location is great for shopping or to visit Colognes fabulous nightlife. And if you stay on a Friday or Saturday night, that's what you proably should do, because the noise coming from the street, clubs and bars might keep you from having a good nights sleep. Even on upper floors.

Very helpful staff who did go the extra mile to make my stay comfortable. Upgraded my room on arrival. Note that tea/coffee making is not provided in standard rooms. Excellent breakfast available, comfy bed but room was very hot and the window very small! No aircon in the rooms made for a sticky night's sleep. I have used this hotel before and will use it again.

The hotel rooms are small but it's Europe & that's pretty much everywhere. The air condition worked great! The front desk & breakfast staff were really nice. The cleaning staff walked in our room 2x while the Do Not Disturb sign was on the door. The hotel itself is about a mile away from the train station which is a nice walk but when your lugging luggage for a mile on cobblestone road that can become quite a nuisance. Just for that reason alone I would probably look for hotels closer to the train station which is close to the cathedral, love bridge, the river & tons of restaurants & bars. However, there are cabs everywhere so that's not a problem if you decided to grab a cab instead of walk! A must try bar is called Elements which is a 1 minute walk from the hotel. We also ate at La Bodega right across the street from the hotel which was really good but make reservations! The breakfast at the hotel was very good & totally worth the $8-$10 Euros!

Nice hotel; staff are wonderful and forthcoming; buffet breakfast is big and varied and continues to be filled, same thing with the coffee on your table; towels in the room are changed even when it's not required; the mini bar is not immensely expensive like in other hotels; the location is perfect, not too far from the old centre and in an area that has a lot of bars, restaurants, shops...
BUT: I wholeheartedly advise them to close the garage entry with a solid (wooden) gate. We were on the 2nd floor right above the open gate to the back yard, where all the pounding noises and yells from the (mostly drunk) disco visitors reverberated. Fortunately, we were too tired and eventually fell asleep, but someone else in our party staying right above on the 3rd floor had the same complaint. Apparently, the noises could not be heard on 4th and 5th floors.

Room Tip: Top floors, or at least on the east side of the building, away from the garage entry (to avoid the s...

I stayed here for one night only on a Friday which was probably significant! The positives? The room was well equipped, the bed comfortable, the lift (elevator) enormous and the staff polite. That's it. Yes the hotel is 1km from the railway station as confirmed by my GPS but that's in a straight line! My room overlooked a bar/night club or whatever and there was noise until 04.00 in the morning. The hotel receptionist upon departure said that if I had complained at the time they would have switched me to a quieter room. So why did they allocate me to such a room in the first place as surely all Friday nights are hectic and noisy? I declined to pay 18 euros for a breakfast and they also wanted to charge me for use of Wi-Fi which I also declined!

Room Tip: One as far away from the bars and night clubs as possible!
