Generally there is nothing really negative to report. Everything was good, but not thrilling. Bed was very comfortable, it was quiet, the room was very clean eventhough a bid old (fashioned), breakfast was fine but the room a bid booring. Service very helpful and friendly.

We stayed at this very efficiently run hotel for a big trade fair in Cologne. Great minibus service was provided to the show in the mornings and everything ran like clockwork. Overpriced single rooms but then there was nothing cheaper to book in Cologne during the show!

Stayed in this hotel for 3 or 4 times, always in business.
It's a nice, clean and quiet hotel (like the name claims), outside Cologne. Train to Cologne is 10 minutes walking distance, with train line direct to the city center.
The rooms are very clean and with enough space. A desk, TV, and mini-bar are available.
The beds are ok, not too soft or too hard.

The only "less-positive" point is the bathroom, wich is a litle small. But ok, you don't need a huge bathromm for your needs, right?

Breakfast is very good, with fresh fruit, several type of cheese and ham, eggs (scrambled and boiled), bacon, good juices, and then the usual cofee, milk, bread and croissants and cookies. You can have a nice breakfast in this hotel.

The hotel staff is very educated and polite, and are always ready to help you, with a nice smile.

So, if you're going to COlogne for tourism, shopping or business, this is a good choice.
Around the hotel you have several restaurants and a convenience store.

Next time to Cologne, I will stay there for sure.

Room Tip: Choose back rooms. You will have nothing but trees, with no noise at all.

I can only recommend this little Hotel: It has everything you might want, great service, nice spacious clean rooms and a great breakfast buffet. We stayed there for a visit to the Mediterrana Spa nearby. I noticed the Hotel also has a nice outside area (we did not use).

This small quaint hotel is everything that my wife and i and the couple we travelled with would expect from a hotel. The staff especially the people at the front desk were extremely helpful and friendly. Although the rooms were on the small side, they were bright and refreshingly clean. The breakfast was awsome in the typical German style, with something for every taste, even had lox. The ten minute walk to the tram station and 20 minute ride to the center of the city was well worth the stay at this wonderful hotel. We intend to stay there again on our next trip to Germany.

During a Trade Fair season I had to be in Cologne where all hotels were fully booked or extremely overpriced. Hotel Silencium is a small hotel in a wooded residential district that embued a sense of peace and tranquility no matter what time of day or night. Truly lovely grounds, very comfortable rooms (I had a mini suite with balcony) and enormously helpful and efficient staff. I highly recommend it. It is however, rather far from the city center (22E taxi fare or a short walk takes you to the local UBahn train station and you can reach the city center sights of Cologne within 20 minutes.
