I was in Cologne on a business trip and we had a function in the hotel mid-week. While the staff were great and the organization of the function from the hotel side could not be faulted, the internet service offered at this hotel is shocking. Either you use their "free" LAN, hard-wired service in your room which is just God-awful and slow, or you have to use the wifi service which is offered by Deutsche Telekom and is a rip-off at 19,95 Euros for 10 hours. Alos, the wifi is incredibly poor in terms of speeds.

The room I stayed in on the 10th floor was lovely, the bathroom, too - complete with products from the White Company, and my room had a free Tassimo coffee machine as well as a free mini-bar. So with regards to the room and indeed the sumptuous breakfast, I cannot complain. However, as I was here on business and needed to get online to work, I found this hotel frustrating.

When I complained about the internet service, I was simply told that the hotel had signed a contract with a local provider and could not get out of it. So, it would appear that they are beholden to the slow speeds offered by the third-party. Also, the wifi offered by DT is something that is out of the hotel's control

If you are in Cologne for fun or as a tourist, by all means stay at this hotel. But if you are here on business and need to get online, I would seriously think again.

Room Tip: Pay the extra 30 Euros a night and upgrade to the highest category.

we stayed in this hotel as part of a Bongo-voucher gift. we stayed there two nights. it was a good location with parking. the parking was included in the executive upgrade we took. € 30 for the upgrade, including €15 worth of parking, free use of the minibar and a room on the higher levels (we were on the highest, which was nice)
i'm a very light sleeper and was worried when we saw that we were nearby a major road into the city, but there wasn't a whisper of noise. the room was very modern, comfortable and functional. I didn't like the fact that there were no english or dutch language entertainment channels (i.e. non-news channels). Also, a bath would have been more suited for an executive room.
breakfast was great and we had dinner on in the restaurant as well, i had the spätzel (a kind of german gnocci) very nice.
overall very satisfied

Room Tip: take the executive upgrade if you have a car to park

I went to cologne with 2 friends and booked this hotel because it ws reasonably priced and we werent too fussy about the standards. when we arrived however we were shocked at what we got for our money. Amazing staff who supply you will maps and directions to wherever you want to go. We had one room for all 3 of us and were expecting to be a bit crowed, but the rooms were very spacious and clean. Lovely bathroom to get ready for a night out. Trams are just outside and are very cheap so dont be put off by the location if you are going as a tourist and not a business person.

Nice size room. Plenty of space for a business traveller. Much bigger than several others hotels I've stayed at in the past. Free internet was LAN only, wireless was an additional charge. Very, very, very slow connection. Very nice breakfast fare; excellent selections. Had a nice dinner there too. Easy access to town and the Messe via the 1 train route, about 10-15 min. Situated in a more business/residential area west of the city, so not much in the way of shopping or dining around.

Stayed here for 2 nights - the room was beautifully furnished and very spacious, even having bathroom goods from the White Company in Leeds (where we're from). The hotel have their own car park which was reasonably priced and the staff were helpful, even presenting us with vouchers for 2 free drinks in the hotel bar on arrival. Easy access to the city centre - we had our bikes with us so it was about a 10 minute cycle into the centre or you can take the tram, from the stop just at the end of the road which would be about 5 minutes into town. Would highly recommend staying here!

Ameron is a little bit to the west of Cologne center and access is easy with a car. Parking is available, but you have to pay extra. There is no luggage service, but you can rent a trolly and do it yourself (which is OK with me anyhow). Checkin was quick and friendly. The good thing is that Internet over LAN is FREE and fast (finally free Internet again). We did also get coupons for free beer :)

Breakfast was OK, nothing special. Rooms are fairly new and stylish. The only drawback we had was that our room (219 if I am not mistaken) was next door to service room for the maids and each morning they were slamming this heavy doors very loudly, so try to avoid that room.

Tram station is across the street!

Room Tip: Avoid rooms that are next door to service doors.
