It's almost embarrassing to jump on the five star bandwagon with hundreds of other folks, but there is no choice: Michael is simply the archetype of a welcoming innkeeper.
We stayed in the upstairs bedroom for three nights during Christmas markets. As everyone has said, the house is lovely, and I have never in all my life seen so much food, of such great quality , for breakfast. Even on the day we were leaving early, we were served several courses of quality items.
One note on choosing which room: The upstairs room, with dormered ceiling, is private, has a marvelous view over the city and of the cathedral and its own wardrobe room!! But when we return, we will probably ask for the downstairs room because I am incapable of remembering to duck for the ceilings and left with a couple huge knots on my head. (MY issue, not the establishment's). Also, the staircase to the room is a little narrow and steep for my aging knees.
The downstairs room would not be noisy, as there are only two rooms and the whole place totally revolves around the guests' needs, and the ceiling there is regular height. Plus the downstairs room includes a bath tub, instead of just a shower. Either room tho, is definitely worth it and we will be returning.
