Owner description: This giant Gothic cathedral, which until its completion in 1880 had been under construction for over 500 years, is perhaps Germany's most famous religious structure and includes two huge towers that serve as the defining symbol of Cologne's skyline.

Although the cathedral is rather dark inside, the stained glass is all the more striking for it - St. George is one of the saints represented. The shrine of the Three Magi, and the Treasury (Schatzkammer) in the crypt, are worth seeing but a guided tour might further improve the experience.

Koln or Cologne, is a fun city with lots to do. The church is right in the middle of everything and is amazing. A donation is all you need to get in. Def take the stairs to the top at night so you can really enjoy the night skyline. A must do.

You may have seen a lot of Cathedrals, but this one is definitely worth it.
HUGE!
Reconstructed after the war to its original plans. Hard to imagine that people in 13th C designed this building and for the longest time this was the tallest building in the world.

Definitely take the guided tour, English one at 10:30 and in afternoon.
Try to go back at different times of the day to get the feel of the place in different light, including evening. The interior is always quiet, but especially so at night.

A magnificent building, being restored almost continually judging by the size, easily located close to the main railway station. It dominates the Koln skyline - a good view is over the pedestrian / railway bridge that crosses the Rhine ( see my photograph ).
