I love Maredo, I visit their restaurants whenever possible. But this one lacks something. It was busy and the staff were a bit pushed, but that's not really a decent excuse for average food.
We ordered the platter to share (I forget the name) and it was plenty big enough for our appetites. Although we asked for rare (translated as 'English'...which surprised me) the meats definitely were not cooked this way - more medium in my opinion - but they were tasty nonetheless.
The salad bar was OK, but there were a few things empty or missing so we passed. Drinks-wise, the house red there is one of my favourites and I happily drained a carafe without assistance as it was as good as ever.
Our waitress was Syrian, and was interesting. She was chatty and helpful and gave us time to think and talk even though she was rushed.
All in all, an average but still tasty and enjoyable dinner.
