Great value, quick and efficient service. Waitress could discuss types of beer and tell us the potato mash had muskatnuss a.k.a. nutmeg. Lovely weinerschnitzels and spaetzle. House Riesling is good value

Went there on a Sunday for an early lunch. Restaurant was very busy. Staff took some time to notice us but was very friendly. Drinks arrived later than bread basket. Food in general was of good quality. We had schnitzel and leberkäse.

We would go again. It is more for casual dining than going there for the food experience.

The Spitz is à Resto located on Pfeilstrasse 31-35 in Cologne's trendy area half a block from Rudolf Platz. It comfortably stretches from one end to the other of a small block and it has at its center a small interesting courtyard. The architecture, furniture,!and decor are reminiscent of the 40s and early 50s. The food is interesting and include a variety of local German cuisine dishes complemented with good German wines, beers as well other kinds of alcohol. The service is excellent and unpretentious. The menu will be interesting for those who want to explore German dishes ranging from the famous Sauerkraut to the vegetarian Flammkuchen. I found the later to be a German version of Pizza made with a thin crust and   champignons, zucchini, tomatoes and leek. Only on Fridays, the special is Backfisch (fish for frying) in beer and accompanied with a potato, cucumber and remoulade salad, typical of Eastern German called Kartoffel Gurkensalat und Remoulade. I do not think Spitz will disappoint, on the contrary, its food, wonderful ambience, typical food and good drinks coupled with cordial service   will add positive to the memory of Cologne.

Love their menu...it reads just like the menu my mum was cooking from when we were younger.
