Went to Zoo December a lot of the eating places closed . I think this would be a Zoo to visit in the summer months

Had a nice walk by the Rhine to end up at the Zoo. Had to pay € 17,50 euro to get in, which was rather a lot. I figured it was going to be worth it, but it hardly was. It was to be expected that nothing was open in December, but they obviously took that a little too far. The restaurant was being rebuilt, so the only thing available was an Imbiss, serving only greasy food. The park itself has a decent selection of animals, but seems a little outdated. Several animals were pacing up and down, clearly not amused by their situation. It is expected things will be better once the season starts and the restaurant is running again. They would have been better off closing until then or reducing the price (since it did not match to the actual service provided).

We spent 3 hours in this zoo and aquarium opposite to it and still feel that we have not spent proper time. A very big zoo, u will get tired walking in it but a must see. Many animals here which we usually don't see. Do not miss the shows here.

I'd heard of the Cologne Zoo and how they were rebuilding it. I'd read that they specialized in primates. I hadn't expected to see such a wonderful zoo in the middle of a city. More elephants together than I've ever seen in any other zoo, in a spacious exhibition area. Nice hippo/crocodile house. Nothing to dislike. Would love to go back in a warmer month.

As the title suggests, we visited in November and I think that this meant that it was mostly closed. - There was no food to be had, nor was the gift shop open. However, the Elephants/Tropical House/Hippo enclosure/Crocodiles were very impressive.
