This Hotel was one of the top hotels in it's heyday, but time has taken it's toll.
The Sofa in the room had a large wear hole in the seat, the carpet was tired, the A/C did not cool the room and simply heated no matter what cooling temperature was set. The internet was a pain to log onto and there was nothing in the mini bar and there was no tea or coffee making facilities.
The remote controller for the TV had flat batteries and the shower in the bath was rather dangerous as the curvature of the bottom of the bath was too acute.
Having outlined the negative points, on the plus side, the fittings in the room are all quality but dated and the overall impression is good but when looks beneath the surface one can see that the hotel is in need of an update.
The restaurant is good but we had an overcooked fish course. One thing that did really amuse me was that on the wine list, Wine number five on the list was not a wine one would expect to see in a restaurant of this standard. Please see the photo of the wine list and the bottle that was delivered to the table and form your own opinion.More
