“Very comfortable”
Reviewed November 12, 2013 via mobile

This is a very friendly, comfortable hotel with character. He staff are helpful and friendly. It's main negative is that it does not serve dinner, however, there are many restaurants nearby, several within walking distance

The location of this hotel is great, in downtown Bielefeld (yes, it really exists). Easy walking distance to lots of restaurants. Each room appears to be different, so some of us got larger rooms, some smaller rooms. I suppose that if you don't like your room you can always ask for another and it will be completely different. The price was great as was the breakfast. Very friendly staff at the hotel. My only complaints are that the wifi was terrible, and there's a church close by with loud, annoying bells.

Spent 2 nights in this classical style hotel, located in the Oldtown.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, 4th floor and very far end of the hotel, hence long walk from elevator through different corridors.
In the bathroom you find all the necessary: also bathrobes and slippers are available with request, no cost. Bath-tap system was new to me, but it was explained in the room directory and easy to figure out itself as well.
Hotel has sauna with leisure area- had to inform 30 min advance of the wish to use, free of charge. We had no time to try it out but it sounded nice:)
Our room price didn't include breakfast, no worries as plenty of places around the corner. One of them with great view: Bernstein (can find info at bernstein-live.de/), 9eur per person buffet.

For your info: Close by are several churches, and church bells can wake you up. I personally like the sound but just in case...:)

I have not much else to add to previous reviewers, overall very pleasant stay, friendly staff and I recommend.
Bielefeld is nice city and has lovely old-town, variety of places to see and good shopping.

Initially difficult to find due to the one way system, the hotel has underground parking available for €14 per night. Location is good in the centre of Bielefeld, and whilst the hotel had no restaurant, there’s plenty available within walking distance.

Room was spacious and decorated like pretty much all other German hotels. No ironing board, paid wi-fi worked well. Breakfast had a good selection, and was priced at €12.

The only downsides was the hotel had a bad odour during our stay, something the hotel were aware of and were in the process of resolving. Plus the lift wasn’t working in the morning, it’s a long way to walk with two suitcase from the top floor to the car park.

Staff were fantastic, I was made to feel very welcome. Would happily stay here again.

We arrived for our 2 night stop to see Status Quo and were checked in fast and efficiently. The lady on reception was very helpful with directions to the venue and for food etc. Our room was a fair size. Our double bed was two single beds pushed together. We asked for extra pillows which arrived quickly. The Bathroom was a good size too. Plenty of towels and soap/gel. The shower was good when I figured out how to use it! The only problem was the Shower was in the bath which was slippery when wet so much care was needed to get in and out. Hairdryer and minibar.

The hotel was down a side street and was difficult to find on foot from the station what should have been a 14 minute walk turned into nearly an hour as it’s easy to get lost even with a map around the shops and pedestrian areas. The hotel was quiet no inside or outside noise.

The hotel foyer has a small bar the only downside people could and did smoke there. There is also some comfy seats and tables to relax in if your are waiting for people. The hotel had a book on display showing signatures of all the famous people that had stopped there in the foyer.

Breakfast was E14.50 each which I thought was a bit dear even though there was a nice spread of food really well display it was really nothing special. There was an orange juice maker where you could make your own which was fun without having to clean the mess up! There was bacon sausage and scrambled egg – warm. Then the usual cheese ham pate yoghurts breads cereals fruit juice and a small selection of fruit. No white bread for toast though? No Danish but a couple of pre brought doughnuts?

A good base in Bielefeld near to shops and venues

The hotel is really interesting. It was so cozy and cute, I loved the decoration.
The hotel was in a really convenient location, really close to the main street, the center and the cathedral, yet in a peaceful, quiet street.
The front desk staff was really friendly and helpful, and spoke english really well.
The room itself was big, comfy. It had the biggest bathroom in a hotel room I've ever seen. The bed and the bedding were extremely comfortable. All in all, it was a really nice room.
The breakfast was plentiful and really tasty, a wide selection of everything.

I really liked the hotel, I don't have any complaints.
