“Very good budget hotel, with friendly staff.”

Stayed there for 3 nights. Placed down-town Aachen. Rooms are very clean and in good conditions. Secured parking next to the hotel. 7 Euro a night. Breakfast not included. 7.50 Euro.
Better go to the BackWerk, at the town square, and buy Belegtes Brötchen and coffee...

Stayed there for 2 night for a conference. Hotel manager was a curious fellow - stressing that he was the hotel manager about every other sentence. But other than that, for a budget hotel it's one of the best places I've ever been.
The rooms were sober, but complete and well styled, soundproof and very clean. The beds were good, as was the shower. The free wifi was a welcome bonus.
The breakfast was quite sober, but sufficient. However, for the surcharge you have to pay for it (7,50), I would strongly recommend to go 100m down the street and pay the local bakery shop a visit (worth it!).

For the rest there are some decently priced vending machines available, rooms are equipped with TV (also quite rare for a budget hotel), reception hours are sober but will suffice for most travellers and the location is a big plus!
I would return here for my next short trip to Aachen in a pinch.

Stayed here enroute to Nuremburg and it was perfect for the layover. Great location, about a 5 minute stroll to the old town, and although we could not fit the minibus in the car park, there was plenty of on-street parking nearby. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the whole place was spotless. The room was excellent with the usual bunk over the double bed and superb shower complete with LEDs which changed colour which our boys loved. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent with a plentiful supply of rolls, meat, cheese, cereals and hot drinks. With free wifi and reasonably priced and plentiful choice of items in the vending machines (including beer) the only negative was the surly staff member who seemed to think that he should actually be in one of the more high class establishments in the Accor group. Although probably not somewhere you would want to stay more than a night or two, for an overnight stop this was excellent.

1st night I noticed a couple of hairs in the bed. The shower (which is actually in the room) smelled odd (fishy). The towels are well worn. No toiletries or appliances. Had a double bed, but only a small duvet (not covering the whole mattress).

THE GOOD: Cheap, comfy beds, easy to check in/out, quiet, plenty of plug sockets.

Reception open specific hours - and no luggage lockers. Hotel can store if the hours of reception opening are convenient for you. (If not, for 3-4 euros, the train station is a good bet.)

Great if you don't need a luxury hotel.

I didn't try the breakfast.

There's no bar/restaurant - but there's a couple of vending machines.

This hotel was newly opened and fantastic, perfect for a city break and welcomed us after a long day at the freezing but beautiful Christmas market. We designed rooms with a very comfy double bed and a unique extra bunk bed should you be travelling with a child or a girls weekend away. Loved the shower is like being in a capsule with a multi colour shower head that lights up any morning. Location excellent for anything in Aachen perfect!

This was our first experience of the Ibis Budget chain - bottom line is that we will look to use this budget line of hotels again. With 2 x adults and 3 x children travelling it is difficult to find one room within a reasonable price. This hotel provided two room (2 + 3). If you are happy yo split the family group then this arrangement is fine. Free wi-fi throughout which was great; exceptionally clean and tidy and excellent bedding. Security is good and although there is no free parking, €7 for 24hr parking directly underneath is very reasonable. Easy 10min stroll through shopping area to the Aachen Cathedral. Staff very efficient and we could not really ask for more given we only paid €74 in total for two rooms. We did not have the breakfast however the dining area looked very clean, ordered and offering reasonable continental spread.
