“very clean but basic budget hotel”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

For a budget hotel it has all the basic facilities which were clean plus a safe & mini bar in the room which you don't get with some cheap hotels. The room had a nice balcony which unfortunately we couldn't use too much as we are non smoking and other guests around us smoked heaviily and the smell was constantly coming into the room as was the noise from the roadside and garage.
There wasn't air conditioning in the room and the weather was hot so not being able to sleep with windows open due to noise etc made for a very uncomfortable couple of nights.
The staff are extremely friendly and multi lingual which is helpful and the Beer Garden is lovely when it is open...we found it strange that this and the restaurant were closed Friday, Sat & Sunday which surely is a business faux pas,
The breakfast is expensive at 13 euro PP and we would recommend going to Moss Bakery a couple of hundred yards up the road where a sandwich, coffee and cake for two was 15 euro!
On the whole it was a fair experience for the price

This hotel is conveniently located to the highway and to the city center, there is also a bus stop close by. My room was very quiet (no street noise, nothing) and spacious (booked a single, got a double). The room furniture looks like ~20 yrs old, but it is well maintained. Everything is clean.

Charging for a WiFi connection seems a bit strange to me. Who is the target group of this hotel? People who don't work in the evening, check their emails, or plan their city tour for the next day? Who does without Internet nowadays?

If you wish to spend a nice weekend in Aachen as a tourist, I recommend a hotel closer to the historic center of the city. Walking distance matters, and also you don't have the flair of Aachen if you stay out here.

recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst we were attending a Car Rally at Spa in the Ardennes Belgium which is only 30 mins away from the hotel. lovely room for the price we paid (90 Euros) and sensible prices for the items in the mini bar!! nothing was too much hassle. being a Brit however I did find paying 4 Euros to have a kettle and tea making facilities in the room a bit steep. would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the city or even if you were looking at visiting the Ardennes. whilst it is a bit out of the city center there is a bus stop outside the hotel.

From the outside this hotel just appears like a regular hotel, but it is fanatastic! My room was tremendous with a very large bathroom. Kitchenette, living room, automatic window blinds. soft chairs, flat screen TV, bedroom also had a TV, nice bed and pillows with energy efficient lighting. I would strongly recommend this place. Very nice dinner, breakfast buffet was also fantastic with an omelet station.

We stayed here two days. Rooms are clean and modern. We included the breakfast which was abundant but so was the price! My advise is to skip breakfast here and enjoy some breakfast downtown. Obviously (as mentioned earlier) the pool and sauna were under reconstruction. A bit of a scam really as it appears to be out of order for a while, but still being advertised as a spa being present. Go to Carolus Thermen for a proper spa. Parking facilities are for free although the second night we had to park the car at the front of the public road, Luckily it is located in a crime free neighbourhood :-)

All in all a clean and comfortable hotel albeit too far from the outgoing area, except for the excellent bar/restaurant at the local manege down the road.

We stayed here on our journey across Europe. We had a really late (22.50) check in. The staff was friendly, English speaking. We even been served in the bar after eleven, wich was just kind from the receptionist/bartender lady. The room was spotless clean. The bathroom is a bit small, but all you need is there. The design is 90s style. The trees around the hotel made a summer morning fresh.
Big extra point, that we can park in the garage without extra fee, but plenty of parking place behind the hotel, wich is better accesible then the garage.
The only surprise we had, that they dont took the money by the booking, we had to pay there.
Check in, check out was easy and qiuck.

We stayed for a night here en route to Germany. The rooms were immaculate and spacious, beds comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location excellent for the easy bus journey into the city (far easier than driving and parking). Unfortunately the swimming pool was out of action. The food looked good in the restaurant when we had a drink in the bar, and breakfast was delicious. Plenty of parking at the hotel, and a small terrace outside for warm weather. For a low price, this was so much nicer than most budget hotels.
