During my stay in Aachen, we had breakfast everyday in Nobis, great location, nice breakfast menus, excellent bread, nice coffee, and a lot of choices for deserts. Always busy, but service is still great.

Great choice of food, both sweet and tasteful, nice sandwiches, good coffees, clean bathrooms and very friendly service. It is not a restaurant, but you can sit down to enjoy what the bakery offers. In fact we went there twice on one day.

My wife and I have been many times at Nobis to have a simple lunch (upstairs at the second floor)

This time my wife took a Schnitzel sandwich.

The meat was raw underneath the crust of the Schnitzel!!! That is very dangerous for a chicken meat (bacterias).

Furthermore, the crust of the Schnitzel contained Glutamate / MSG, which is a food chemical to enhance the flavours.

My wife is allergic to Glutamate and it triggered a strong reaction in her.

Any restaurant that uses Glutamate is simply poor. When you use good ingredients, you don't need any chemical to artificially enhance the "flavours".

This is the last time we eat there.

Dear Customers,
dear Phil,

we never used glutamate for our pastries.
At the end of the year 2013 we spoke to our butcher about the use of the ingredient glutamate in his cold cuts, which he delivers to us until that point of time. Up to that moment we only used them to create some snacks with meat on it.
This butcher stopped using glutamate for all his products in 2014.
So because of this you will also not find glutamate in any of our snacks or pastries now.
You can be sure that you receive only the finest ingredients by enjoying our specialties.

Best regards
Your team of Nobis Printen

While in Aachen you must stop at Noblis. Have a coffee and sweet and sit outside to people watch. We had breakfast here twice while in Aachen and thought everything tasty and you can't beat the location!
Don't forget to bring some Printen home!

We visited the Nobis for Breakfast and for lunch on several occasions, at Kapellenstraße we sat at the outside seating area and there was also a good seating area inside the cafe.

There was a good choice of pastries and beverages, all reasonably priced at about 10 euros for the 3 of us. We also ate at other branches around Aachen. The Nobis near the cathedral was particularly nice and much larger this branch had a good choice of baked goods and their shop also sold Printen the very special German biscuit unique to Aachen.

Would not hesitate to recommend this chain of bakeries.
