Staff friendly, but rooms are small, stinky and need renovation. And renovation is not just repainting. The hotel is not pretending to be five stars, but prices in December are so high that in other cities you could get better place to stay for less money.

Room Tip: There are better, bigger rooms called "apartments", but they have no kitchenette or someth...

The hotel actually calls itself Aachen Hauptbahnhof. We were very satisfied with this Ibis. Granted the rooms are very small, especially the bathroom but we paid a small price! The buffet breakfast was very good and it was constantly topped up. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We would stay there again.

I stayed here just one night on a larger trip from Belgium back home. I know Ibis from France so I kind of expected nothing fancy - still this Ibis is below the normal Ibis level in my eyes. I had a room on the 4th floor and paid 75 EUR a night including WiFi and breakfast.

I cannot particularly say that the service people are not friendly - they are nice. However they seem to always forget things which leaves me to believe that they don't really care.

What I liked
- Covered parking available... be aware it's only for cars. It's not high enough to stand in some of the spots (1.50m height).
- Quiet though next to a busy road
- Large bed
- WiFi provided for several devices

What I did not like
- Small rooms
- Very small bathroom similar to the ones in Paris. You cannot turn around when you stand up from the toilet without hitting anything. You cannot get out of the shower without opening the bathroom door.
- Spotty WiFi
- Very limited menu selection in the restaurant and not really a nice atmosphere there. You feel like in a rundown diner in Texas
- Menu sizes in the restaurant are tiny
- Waiter forgot my beer
- Check-out staff forgot to give me a coin to get out of the garage
- Check-in staff forgot to give me my free WiFi code

I probably would drive somewhere else if again in the region.

Room Tip: Try to get a higher floor room

Visited the christmas market and found a very nice town and the hotel also offered a nice friendly stay with parking and bar. Smallish rooms but clean and quiet with well trained staff
We thought charging for wifi in the room was a little outdated now but went with out for our one night stay

A reasonable standard hotel within walking distance of the city centre. Although refurbished, the rooms still seem rather tired, particularly the shower area (our door did not shut and the shower area quickly flooded if the shower was used at anything above a dribble). The staff were friendly and helpful, but the car park was small and tight for a family-size saloon car. We did not sample breakfast as there are a number of reasonable coffee shops within easy range, which we preferred. Overall, the other Ibis in Aachen (Marchiertor) is a better choice in my view.

Duriing our two night stays in Aachen at the end of November we continue to use this hotel as a comfortable and efficiently run base within walking distance of the city centre and most of the activities. The rooms are quite compact but offer a very good bed and toilet and washing facilities. The buffet breakfast offers a wide range of fresh food and drinks and is good value for money. Since we don't have to drive a lot in Aachen, the underground parking facilities at €6 per night enable us to leave the car in safety during our stay.
We enjoyed our recent stay as we did last year and, God willing, we shall return in 2013.
