The most beatiful building in old town of Stralsund. Very good market place on the square in front of cityhall.

Every single time I see the building of the Rathaus, I cannot but admire its beauty over and over.

Picturesque arcades are very inviting as they provide shade on a sunny day and let you stroll through to hidden streets and alleys behind the city hall.

This place is a definitely must-see in Stralsund. Give it a try! Soak up history as you marvel at the beauty of this Gothic building.

It was just a pleasure to walk around the old parts of this ancient Hanseatic city. The Rathouse is an interesting piece of the classic red brick architecture.

The building is quite something, external as well as internal. Very interesting town with lots of old buildings, and quite interesting history as a former part of Sweden....

Stralsund has kept so many old buildings in great shape, that it makes for a very impressive streetscape. The Rathaus fassade is currently being repaired, but not all the information may be available in English.

Currently, winter 2017/2018, the facade is being renovated, and is covered by building thingies.
However the insides can still be seen.

One of our reasons for going to Stralsund was to see the magnificent rathaus but, as of May 15th, it was completely covered up, I assume for restoration. I don't know when it will be visible again, but perhaps you should check if you are anxious to see it.

Nice gothic building in the middle of a city, but it was really hard to find a place for parking... the parking prices in this city are high - 2 euros for 1 hour and than 2 euros for half and hour. Well, so 6 euros for 1,5 hour :/ I recommend visit this city without a car - by bike

I only viewed this from the outside but it forms a large part of the pretty square which also has a gorgeous water feature. It mimics the sound of waves on the sea. The Rathaus looked really pretty with the night sky behind it
