“Great steak”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2013

Good service, but reservation can be smart since the place is popular. Only had beefsteak at this place and desert. A large steak tender, juicy, knife sliced through like butter. 3 type of desert - creme brulee good (but have had better) some white mousse - very tasty, and a type of ice sorbet also good.

“Time to be teetotal”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2013

As always, the food is excellent as is the service. The problem is the cost of drinks and the fact that the beer (Konig) is superb. The result is a breathtaking bill at the end of the evening. So the tips is – either be teetotal during dinner or go for drink somewhere else (and there’s plenty of choice) before and after your meal.

“New look, new warmth”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013

Its my first visit to this restaurant since the renovation of their interiors 2 years ago. The area with its muted light palettes of green, grey, & cream is so light & amiable now. Additionally, the area is is air-conditioned (!) - which is badly needed in summertime when daytime temperatures these days exceed 36C making street-side dining no different to a sauna experience.

The food is heartily still German-proportioned - hearty & robust - and really good; the wine list needs improvement though, as whoever put it together tends toward very fruity selections including a "dry sekt". Service is very personal thus comfortable & warm.

“Good hotel , make sure you get a modern room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2013

I have stayed at this hotel for many years, including those before it was modernised. It is a great location being just outside of the main town center but within easy walking distance.
It does also have its own small under ground car park. The bar is very nice , I have never eaten in the restaurant , always prefering to eat in the main town, but the hotel restaurant always seems busy with local people, which must be a good sign.
One of the nice aspects here is that the mini bar in the room is the same price as the bar and the beer is cheaper than the coke.

“Good food but with a few odd combinations”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

Delicious with a reasonable decor, and friendly service. We had some nice food, but there were some meal choices between us that disappointed slightly. Nice service with staff bing helpful and attentive. We stayed here as well and the spa is worthy of a mention. well kept and maintained.
