“Lovely gracious hotel in good location”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

Excellent staff especially the French barman. Great guy.
Very handy location and good rooms. The gym is overlooking the city which made the workout interesting!

Laundry is expensive so check the prices. Breakfast buffet was excellent!

Rooms were fine and comfortable except there was no fridge, little storage space and I had to ask for a stand to put my suitcase on (the built-in one in the room was too small).
Internet was a bit slow BUT I couldn't connect to the office using VPN (they must have some setting on their firewall blocking that).
Only 1 lift, so if you are on the upper floors, get used to waiting a bit.
Breakfast was good but not spectacular considering the price.
Staff was good.
Location is very central and close to shops and 200m from the train station. For Messe, it's a 20 Euro taxi trip (15-20 min) or else catch a train.
The "wellness centre" has a great sauna, steam room and relaxation room.
Excellent gym.

as others have said: great location. Yes, the bartender was a bit clueless but that's one guy so hate to be too tough on the place. Check in and out was smooth, people were friendly and helpful. Our room was a tiny bit tired but nothing too bad (and believe me I'm picky). I'd definitely stay there again. Our room was in front but the windows kept the noise out.

Room Tip: only one elevator and none of the rooms have a view so i'd ask for low floor so you can at least...

One thing this hotel most definitely is not is 5 star. It struggles to meet the standards of a 3 star.

Location - excellent. But so are other hotels nearby.

Service - friendly if you have an age to wait. The bar is tiny and ordering a drink is an ordeal. Firstly, if you can actually find a bar man the service is slow. Secondly there's hardly anywhere to sit. They close when they feel like it, without warning.

Rooms are ok. The heating did not work in our twin.

A late check out was an ordeal (1 pm instead of 11).
Lift out of order. No English TV.

If you want a central location and use the room to sleep you'll be fine. If you expect a superior service as assumed in a 5 star you'll be sorely disappointed.

Would I stay here again? ...I rarely say this but NO NO NO.

We stayed here for a couple of nights to see the Christmas markets. We found the hotel very central with a short walk to the markets and the central railway station. The shops were very close by and easy to get to. The hotel room was very spacious and peaceful, comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast and dinner were of a good standard. The hotel lets is self down with the poor service. The check in was painful with receptionist speaking little English and not giving us any detail of where things were or what was included in our package. We had to ask on several occasions for the items included in the package. The service for the evening meal was poor and we waited over an hour from our starter to the main meal. The waitress spoke to us in German (whilst we appreciate we are in Germany, we don't expect to have a full command of German when we visit). Overall the attention to detail was not there!

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor are very quiet

That hotel is all about its location. It a good 5 star hotel, good breakfast but what makes it a lot better is the location. Probably the best hotel in hannover. Near the main station and really beside Kropke. Great stores near. You can do everything by foot.
