“Great way to see the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

I thought this was a great way to see the city. I wish I had time to do the two optional sub threads (green and blue). I really felt that this gave a good variety of things to see in the city. The 3 euros for the self guided tour book is well worth it.

“Nice relaxing way to spend a day in Hannover”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013

The red thread tour is basically a 4km red painted line that passes various landmarks through the city and each landmark (Over forty of them) is described in a guide book that can be purchased for €3 from the tourist office.

By following the guide and spending time at the various attractions during the way, it is easy and inexpensive way to spend a day in Hannover.

“The Red Thread a do it youself guide that is worth doing.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2011

The Red thread guide book is a great way to see Hannover. You start by getting the book from the Tourist Office and then follow the red line around the town to the places of interest to visit with explanations given in the book about them. If you have more time and energy you can switch to the extra tour which is a green line that covers other areas but unfortunately did not have time to do this.

The book also give handy tips on where to take photographs. the only slight problem at the momeent is there is a lot of work being done in the town and sometimes the red thread dissappears but it is easy enough to work out the way to go.

Overall this was a good and cheap way to do a tour of Hannover and I would recommend this personal tour of the city.
