“Excelent hotel very well serviced”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

The hotel is located in a place which is not central, so it is quiet at night, even when it is next to a very large hospital. The italian restaurant within the hotel is quite good and so is the breakfast provided. Rooms are comfortable and well serviced. Highly recommendable!

We stayed her as a stopover heading to Dreseden, the hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly. Mini bar very cheap on average about 2 euro for most non alcoholic drinks, a nice Italian restaurant attached to the hotel with very reasonable prices and excellent food. Good parking facilities including an underground carpak. Free wi- fi and a great buffet breakfast at around 135$ Aus per booked online. Big bathroom with bath, flat screen TV with cable windows which open and rooms which are quite large by European standards I don't think you could go wrong with a place like this!

The rate for me was 80 EUR (low season), which included probably the best breakfast I ever had in any hotel, and a free welcome drink - a 25 cl bottle of cabernet savignon (Concha Y Toro), a large bottle of still water, a 33 cl bottle of sparkling water (maybe even mineral - haven't tasted it), a pack of nuts and 2 small candy bars. Not bad at all!

The rooms are great. Mine had 2 single beds, which were good solid full-sized (over 2m long) beds with very soft mattresses - a bit too soft to my taste, but very nice to sleep. The room was very well equipped - in addition to the standard stuff you would expect in a 4-star hotel, they provided some small extras like a sewing set and several books to read in the bed.

Strangely enough, the room lacked an A/C unit, and to use the free Wi-Fi you have to register somewhere first, which makes it a bit useless.

The hotel is located straight across the street from the university clinic, which means excellent connectivity to other parts of the town. My destination was Uni Nord, which is only 1 bus stop away, so I enjoyed a short walk instead of waiting for the bus.

The staff is very nice and helpful and speak English very well.

This hotel is definitely a #1 choice for me in Gottingen.

Was here overnight for a conference. Hotel itself made a good impression: free and easy parking, spacious room, free wireless internet, nice big bathroom, free coffee out in the reception area. My only slight complaint is this: these days most hotels have double beds as standard, even when one books a single. While I don't expect this as standard, hotels that choose to keep single beds in a room costing 80€ a night as a single should have appropriate beds. This one was very small and very flimsy. I spent most of the night hoping it would stay in one piece. There was certainly enough space for a bigger (and stronger) bed. If this hotel invested in new beds (as, for example, Ibis, who charge considerably less for a room, have recently done), this hotel would be worth 5 out of 5!

This hotel gives a good first impression. Parking is easy, the lobby is clean, spacious and attractive, and check-in staff are helpful and speak good English. The location is out of town (a 30 min walk to the centre) but a bus stops outside and leaves every half hour.

Breakfast has a large choice and everything we tried was of good quality. A nice touch was quality newspapers (Die Welt) available.

The room had a HD television and a mini bar with unusually reasonable prices. The mattress was rather hard but there is a choice of pillows. Rooms at the front may suffer from road noise.

A big plus - the restaurant (Italian, independently run) is very good and also reasonable.

Recommended.

Room Tip: At the back is quieter

Very nice hotel and staff. Bf is nice. You will get tea/coffee during the night as well (free of cost). There is direct bus (number 8) from train stain to the gate of hotel and big supermarket next to the hotel.

Room Tip: You have to tell at reception.

I stayed in the Best Western Hotel am Papenberg for two brief periods between December/2010 and January/2011. It's a good hotel with a fairly accomodations. The rooms are spacious, however a little bit dated. The bathroom is huge and with a modern decoration. The cleaning service worked really well. It's worth mention that the breakfast buffet is great. A lot of option and great service. The front desk was very helpful and could assist with any demand. The hotel is a little bit far from the city centre, however it's a nice walk there and there's a bus stop really near it. Nevertheless the location is perfect for someone that is staying/studying at the Klinikum. It's about 600 m from it. It isn't a very cheap hotel, my I think that the price is ok for what they offer. I would recommend it and I'll for sure be back at it.
