“A Nice Surprise!”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

This was a wonderful way to spend a rainy day in Wiesbaden and a what a pleasant surprise! I was impressed with the extensive collections of the Old Masters as well as the more contemporary exhibits and nature collections. Such a pleasant array of art! The special Nanna exhibit of Anselm Feuerbachs was very well done. One reviewer mentioned poor signage and I would agree - I felt myself wandering and discovering new rooms and stumbling into previously visited rooms! But that was okay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The building itself was pretty and had a very impressive dome and tiling with mirrors to enhance the visuals. I would highly recommend a visit.

“Fantastic Museum”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

We visited this museum during "open museum" weekend when admission was free. I was surprised it was not very crowded and we enjoyed a Sunday afternoon there. We were able to see all the exhibits and the children were able to do several arts and crafts (drawing, painting, clay, etc). The museum had a little bit of everything of interest to adults and children. There were signs to point us to different areas of the exhibits or otherwise you wouldn't know where to go because there are exhibits on the left and right sides of each floor. Museum staff were all friendly, helpful and many spoke some English. Plenty of parking around the museum.

“Museum mystery tour.”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

Without doubt this is a wonderful collection of paintings in the exhibition of Rhine Romanticism – Art and Nature. The display of art gives a vivid impression of life on the Rhine in olden times and this is most enjoyable. The frustrating point about this mueum was the absence of adequate signage. Every floor looked alike and we went up and down in the lift ending up in a gallery in which we were not supposed to be. The official who confronted us was as surprised as we that we had gained access to a room which would not be officially opened until the following day. If there had be proper signage then there would have been no mistakes. Please Mr. Curator put some signs up in your museum even if they are only in German!
