The hotel is well situated in central Wiesbaden, a short walk from the railway station and also a short walk from the main town centre and the associated shopping and restaurants. This can prove useful if you are staying for several days, as the hotel's restaurant, which is good, has a relatively limited choice and you may want to walk into the centre for a change of restaurant.
The staff are attentive and helpful, although queues form for check-in on a Monday evening (there were a dozen people behind me after checking-in on a Monday, as there were only two people manning the desk).
The rooms appear to have been renovated recently, are well appointed and up to date. They are kept spotless and for once the lighting is bright and excellent instead of the dull lighting that you find in many hotels. There is a reasonably sized desk, but as the chair is not height adjustable, it is slightly too low to be able to sit comfortably at the desk for working.
I have rated the hotel as three stars due to the internet. The hotel has free internet, but it is of limited value, really only good for light emails and browsing text on the net. What is worse is that it cuts out after two hours because the hotel "wants to offer you the chance to upgrade to a faster speed". Surprise, surprise, this faster speed is chargeable. When will hotels realise that a quality free internet is as basic a free service as hot water, and stop gouging and profiteering from their customers?
These interruptions are incredibly annoying, as it seems to take 10 minutes before it lets you back on the free net. So if you need to work in the evening, you may find your work interrupted 2 or 3 times as the net cuts out. There is no longer an option available to have the free internet continue without break.
This is a fine hotel, but if access to the net is important to you I would find another hotel that doesn't charge for a quality internet connection.
