“One of my favourite restaurants in Wiesbaden”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

One of my favourite restaurants in Wiesbaden. During a long project here, I had the chance to try several local places but Webers Wikinger is one which stood out and which I went back
to several times.

Good, friendly service. They bring your food quite fast and even though you do not request it, will give you a basket with bread and butter to nibble on while you wait. There's a nice salad with pumpkin which is a starter, but the size of it is generous and many a person would find it sufficient as dinner. The salmon steak with vegetables is really good. The broccoli and feta cheese vegetarian dish is also good, but it is huge.

In Spring and Summer, there's a terrace outside. The interior is cosy in Winter. This part of town is very scenic. There are some cute shops, old pubs and one of the hot springs, the Backbrunen, with the Wiesbaden spa water.

“Very nice 'Old German' ambience”
Reviewed May 10, 2012

I liked the 'Old german style' with dark wood and white walls, bug fireplace in the center of the room, upstair ecc.
The menu is German with some additions, and generally medium high quality, service good, also if sometime they have really to run becouse of owners quantity.

“Great Atmosphere”
Reviewed April 5, 2012

Good German food in a rustic atmosphere. Service is fair. Strangely, my favorite dish here is the fajitas!

“Revisited and not disappointed”
Reviewed March 10, 2012

We revisited this restaurant in downtown Wiesbaden last evening. Rather it was little early and the restaurant was empty (1700) with all tables set for the evening and ALL had reservation signs. Still they accommodated us since we were leaving before 1900 and the theater.
The menu had not changed from our last visit in Oct other than a page of local specials, mostly a schnitzel style cut of meat, turkey, pork or veal - your choice. One in our group ordered the turkey steak with steamed broccoli. A simple plate but the turkey was well cooked, not being overdone and lightly seasoned. The broccoli was vibrant in it's color and crunchy texture.
Had to try the tomato soup since I had seen it ordered by others in the past but had missed out, so I ordered it this time. It's a substantial cup with a light froth covering the top. I believe the menu said creme fraiche but was too light for creme fraiche. The frothy topping was bland and the soup, while tasty, was nothing special - good consistency but not reminiscent of fresh tomatoes so I am guessing this is not freshly made. Otherwise, the salmon salad I ordered was large with a substantial amount of smoked lachs, the salad greens were fresh, clean, and not watery. Other traditional salad items, carrots, gerkin, and peppers were included. However, the dressing was also bland and watery.
All in all, it was a nice meal and one can certainly do worse. For the price, the food was ok on this visit.
