More about technology than music. The automated instruments are a technological marvel. Must appreciate the collectors for maintaining and upgrading the collection preserving it for posterity. The entry fee of Euro 6.50 was very reasonable. Kids would enjoy this greatly. Our guide was a young Italian girl and she was good.

great place to visit - I recommend it to families with children. Beautiful and quite unusual as you don't HAVE to be in the noice of all the wine pubs ALL day!

My only visit to this museum was in 1996, it is a very nice museum. A guide takes you round explaining about the exhibits switching some on.

Situated in an old tower building at the top of drosselgasse and at far end of quant shopping street, but the museum is not everyones cup of tea. Lots and lots of mechanical music machines, fantastic to look at and hear them, but you can only visit as part of a group that speaks your language, so you have to wait until a group large enough becomes available. You cannot wander around on your own, its all timed by the ever talking guides, you are forced to stay to listen because there's nowhere else to go, and quite frankly, in the end you can become quite bored, but nevertheless, its not bad, and its interesting enough in its own way. However, it is of no use to a disabled person, there's steps to climb, the floors are not all that level, and its a steep step down to lower ground level at the end.

Only available as a guided tour at set times, but the guide was very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions and involve us (despite being in the process of losing her voice, poor girl). Our guide spoke fluent German and English.
