I see now that no one has taken pictures of this museum. We haven't either, as we were so overwhelmed.
I was sick to my stomach when I left the museum. I had never expected that they would have so many items, but they do. The collection is vast, with lots of explanations and they do not spare on the details.
Honestly I don't think the items themselves are nauseating. I think that you start getting sick when you read the description of how the items were used, what happened to lots of people, the mentality of that era...
It is worth mentioning that this was one of the few museums that I visited on the Rhine region where almost every single piece of information was translated into English.
I agree with the reviewer that says this museum is not for small children nor for the fainthearted.
The last items of the exhibit are some recent pictures from the media, showing that even nowadays we are not completely free of torture in our world. The caption on these pictures were though only in German. It would have been nice if the translations were available.
