Breathtakingly beautiful. The views are also amazing A must see. how this was built is mind blowing. Extremely busy with visitors. I could see this monument sight could be just a wonderful on a cold clear day.

The statue is quite impressive but the area is also magnificent. You can go up here using the cable car (Seilbahn) then enjoy the amazing view. From the cable car station we bought the Assmannshausen ticket for 15 Euros which takes you to the top, where you can also hike for around 30 minutes to an hour (depending on your pace) then take another seated lift down to Assmannshausen and from there take a ship back. The whole experience was very nice. Highly recommended.

We walked up to the monument through the vineyards. It was a very hot day and tough going, but so worth it. The views to Bingen and the Rhine Valley were lovely. We came back down via the cable car and again the views (a little different from up there) were amazing.
