This is what you get when the Kaiser builds a "playhouse" on the grounds with this palace. Want to pretend you are a knight in Medieval times? Take your kids here to get the feel of what those old castles were like.

The whole Bergpark in Kassel is magical. There are so many trails here that lead to historical palaces, castles, and monuments! The Lowenburg Castle was one of my favorite sights. The hike here was kind of far but easy, well worth it though! The castle itself is small but the architecture is magnificent. You really get the fairy-tale feeling being here. There are a lot of great photography spots here, so come prepared with your camera. I could spend hours upon hours here.

This looks like it would be a really interesting Castle. It was under some heavy construction when I went. So much was hidden by this. To go through the castle you must have a tour. So come earlier. I hogtie here at 4 PM and had just missed the last. I would probably give this Castle 4-5 stars after construction. It is actually newer, I believe it was built around 1800? The park is vast and I would advise taking drinks and snacks. Because it is a good amount of walking and such things are hard to find in the park.

From the Castle you can see in the distance through the forest this dream come true Fortress. As you walk the path to this Fortress you feel like you are walking into the past. If this was a painting, then it was picture perfect! Sadly, the Fortress was under major construction otherwise, it was perfect to ones eyes!
