“When at Messe we eat here 3 nights out of 5 !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2014

Great quality german food, schnitzel , schweinehaxe, sausages , great beer ..the worst vegetarian restaurant in Germany which is why we keep coming back so often every year ..
It's traditional , it's a pub, and it's reasonably priced if you are entertaining .. Do not overlook this place, it's marvellous !

“Great German food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2014

This is a value option in tourist zone of Frankfurt. They offer a great German food. I strongly recommend the Frankfurter Platte (grilled pork chop, sausage, sauerkraut –cabbage- and fried potatoes) and a local beer. We went on Saturday evening without reservation. Service is better than food.

“Great Food. Good Service.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014

Tried the Jeagertopf. Colleague ordered the Goose Leg. The Jeagertopf was served in a pot in which the sauce was made piled into with sauted potatoes and topped with pork loin and green onion. Sauce was a very tasty mushroom sauce done with real cream, butter and wine. Outstanding! It was so good I mixed the whole meal into the sauce. It just got better. It might have been the way the dish should have eaten.

I was told that goose was tender. Seems to have been marinated. Potatoes served as two balls of mashed potatoes rolled in binder in the size of two baseballs. Served over sauerkraut using the purple cabbage.

Frequented by many regulars for a beer of a late expresso/coffee as is customary around here.

Service was attentive and patient with our bad spoken german. Some of the staff understood english.

“Really good German fare”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

We had this place recommended to us. We hadn't booked as we didn't know how our plans would pan out but were pleasantly greeted at the door and told a table would be available in 10 minutes. It was super busy with a great, warm atmosphere. Although we eventually had to wait 45 minutes, we were kept updated with an apologetic tone. Not a problem for us as were were happy in our seat at the bar after a day walking round the city. The food came quickly - hot and fresh, generously portioned. Tasted really good too! Thought it reasonably priced too. Yum!
