We found this restaurant near the business district downtown. It was unlike any other place I have been so far! I have never been to Africa, but I truly feel this experience is on par with the cuisine I would experience in Northern Africa. The staff was cordial and informative, and the food was unique yet still approachable.

The atmosphere is absolutely fun. You eat with your fingers, the furniture, food, and staff is seemingly authentic, as well as the good vibes throughout the establishment. I would recommend as an experience for traditional fare outside German cuisine while traveling.

This is a fun place. You should definitely make reservations, as it books up fast. They give you an option for either a 6pm or 830pm seating I believe. The prices are extremely reasonable. Its best to go with a group of 4-6. The wine is good and the food is awesome. The floor is sand, so you may want to wear flip flops or completely closed shoes to avoid sand in your feet! It can get pretty warm in there, so dress in layers:)

A colleague of mine and myself dined at this restaurant last night. It was an enjoyable experience and pretty unique. The restaurant's ambiance is nice, in particular the Sandy floor! Also there are a few individual tables which are however low seating. There are also sofas where one can eat there as well and finally there are tables which seat 10 persons and hence one can end up sharing a table with other people. Given the nature of the restaurant I didnt mind this social element in the least.
The menu itself is not the vastest however the food on offer is very good and is very cheap. A large mixed platter of food for two persons costs just €20. The platter consisted of flat bread (almost pancake like), lamb stew, lentil stew, a red paste mixture, spinach, steamed potatoes and carrots and a fresh salad.
The wine list is not the greatest however they have a couple of good south african wines on offer.
All in all a very njoyable experience.

Ate here with some girlfriends late Saturday night. Great ambiance, low sitting tables, sand on the floors, dark lighting. Staff made us feel right at home and assisted us with ordering. Not a huge selection of food but all is very good! We shared a platter and for the three of us, to eat and drink came to about 30 euro. We enjoyed the meal and the very friendly staff! Would definitely try it again!

Been there a few times already and it's always been enjoyable!

The restaurant has different sitting options. For the less adventurous, there are normal benches and tables, but I would recommend trying the low stools and tables or even then part where you can sit on pillows and enjoy your meal on a low table.

Staff are very obliging and helpful and service is fast. It helps if you book ahead, as it is a popular place and chances are you'll be hard to find free places around busy hours.

The food is typical Ethiopian and delicious! For the full experience, it has to be eaten with the hands and that's what everyone does (but I suppose cutlery can be provided, if asked). You can accompany your meal with one (or more) of the cool cocktails on offer.

Definitely a contender when craving exotic cuisine!
