I love the interior and exterior of the ivory club, the gentleman at the door were very helpful, but most importantly the food was very tasty and good, service was good, and waiter very friendly. Will be back if I go to Frankfurt again.

Business dinner at Ivory Club and we had very good time. Atmosphere is a little too much for my taste as I prefer minimal design, but food and wine were excellent. They suggested us this plave for meat si I had small "tartar" as starter and barrel sirloin for main dish: they were very good. Italian Chianti was excellent and service at good level...as the bill as well.

Despite its well established notoriety for bad service, the quality of the food and its presentation more than compensates for it. My appetizer, which consisted of a variation on spinach samosas was light and tasty. The signature filet mignon was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and the side of coriander mashed potatoes were to die for. The meat came with a side sauce of bbq sauce infused with Indian spices. The food here is light years ahead of Germany's other self-proclaimed steakhouse celebrities (Meatery in Hamburg and Grill Royal in Berlin, neither of whom seem to get it right). The courageous experiment of fusing Indian and steak actually works, partly because the main staples from each genre remain unadulterated. Having said that, everything you heard about the bad service and exaggerated prices is true. No point in going through details, because they've been amply covered by others. Despite that, the restaurant boasts a healthy clientele. The quality of service seems to vary greatly across the gender divide. All staff are competent but the male servers are quite unfriendly and do not smile - as a matter of principle! In stark contrast, the female servers are very pleasant and service oriented. I bet that if the owners invested in some service training for the waiters, they could raise the prices even more and still maintain a full house! I would not recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or a business dinner, since the service is not optimal for this, but definitely go to The Ivory Club when you're just in the mood for good food.

Arrived with a group of 13 for an 8:30 reservation. Service was slow and rude. It took an hour to order and two hours to receive food. Though the restaurant was almost empty, we had to wait for water when our glasses were empty for some time and never received a refill on wine. To top it all off, the staff was rude when we asked to split the bill among couples and refused to calculate the charges. It is a shame that good food was ruined by the lack of customer service.

Went with a group of friends on a warm Friday evening. We had reserved the table well in advance. The restaurant was nearly empty. You would expect attentiveness on such an occasion. Not the case.

In addition to being completely ignored all night (no drink refills offered--which in hindsight saved us a ton of money as the drinks are incredibly over-priced).

Paying separately is customary in Germany, but this was too much of a problem for these guys, who only after lecturing us and questioning why we "hadn't notified them in advance" allowed us to pay individually.

This place has a reputation of being one of the best places in town, but after this shocking experience, I would advise anyone looking for a nice dinner to stay well away from this place.

There are better curries and steaks for less money in Frankfurt. Look elsewhere.
