“Wrong picture”

Your picture is of the "Alte Oper", which is the city's main concert hall.

The Frankfurt Opera is a modern building next to the ECB.

“Oper Frankfurt”

I've visited Frankfurt quite a few times for a variety of different events or performances, but the ones I've seen at Oper Frankfurt are among the most memorable.

“One of the best opera houses in Germany”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

For some years in the row Frankfurt Opera House was voted Best German Opera House. The orchestra also got some awards to be the best German opera orchestra. Most productions are modern ... (but) always very interesting. Shedule is a mixture of top operas and seldom played ones. The Frankfurt Opera House has very good house singers (many of the current prominent opera singers has been part of the Frankfurt esemble), but many well known singers are added to the esemble (the director has very good contacts around the world and a good feeling for raising stars). With the exception of Monday and Tuesday there is normally an opera every day. With the exception of January there are normally Tickets available on a short notice. For reservations see the rules at their website. The opera house is a modern building, with a nice view towards the Frankfurt skyline. Check it on the upper terrace. For the intervalls you can make drink and food reservations before the performance. Cheapest tickets start around 12 Euro, the most expensive ones are around 70 Euro (others for first nights). If you are in Frankfurt don't miss an evening at the Frankfurt Opera (and don't mix it up with the "Alte (old) Oper (a)", which is only for concerts nowadays).

“Elegance and great music”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

Amazingly, this place was left in ruins for decades after WWII. But today it is the heart of the classical music scene in the city and a must-see tourist attraction. Despite its name, it is mostly a concert hall rather than an opera house.

“La Traviata”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

My wife and I were in Frankfurt for a couple of days. Since we were in Germany we had to try to see an opera. We went to the opera house and tried to buy two tickets but were told it was sold out. Luckily for us the man at the ticket window was nice enough to sell us the last two tickets that were being held as house seats. The opera was in Italian with German subtitles. While it was tough to follow exactly because of the language, we had such a wonderful experience because of the beauty and emotion of the singing. It was wonderful. Just wonderful.
