We were in Frankfurt mid-April, and it was a beautiful and relaxing stretch along the river. The trees hadn't started to bud yet, so the trees looked a little like the whomping willow from HP. Apparently they don't have leaves for long, so definitely recommend in the peak of summer to get the full experience of this peaceful walking area.

I love the Museumsufer in Frankfurt. Literally it is a pathway along the meadows of the River Main. You have the best view on Frankfurt and its Skyscrapers. On the other side of the street are many of Frankfurts fantastic Museums. My favorite Is the Museum für angewandte Kunst. They have very good exhibitions and art classes.

The area between the central Main bridges are inviting for a walk, you can take it south from Römer and north toward main station, e.g. Maintenance of the waterside walk used to be better after they renovated the housing area.

Part of the historic Sachenhausen district, the embankment of the river Main is home to many important museums including the famous Stadel museum. It also makes for a relaxing walk and hosts a flea market on weekends.

but even better with all the musuems right next to you..
Museumsufer is on the bank of the Mein river.. and pretty much in the CBD of Frankfurt.. an easy walk from HBF.. or you can take a trolley from HBF to get here too..
make sure you're wearing good walking shoes..
