“Feel of history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

Much of this area was destroyed by aerial bombing in the 1940s. I lived in Frankfurt during 1970s and at that time one could still see scars around the city, though much had been rebuilt. The careful and authentic rebuilding of the Roemer area over several decades means that now visitors can experience it much as it was hundreds of years ago. On a recent autumn day I was able to stand in the plaza and get a feeling for what it could have been like when it was the city's heart and heartbeat. There was the bustle of humanity walking through and milling about, spontaneous performances from street artists, and the overall hum of life going on. Be sure to visit this site.

“Must see!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

Great place to view a piece of the city. The shopping, food, churches, atmosphere and history all rolled into one. Also if you ever get a chance to view it at Christmas, don't pass it up. It's the most beautiful place you have ever seen. The smell and taste of the food, vendors, lights, carousel ride and lots of shopping. Don't forget this is right off the beautiful river. You could take a boat ride and view so much more of Germany's beautiful sites. You could also get a tour of Frankfurt using "Frankfurt On Foot" to give you a bit of history of the city.
