“Romer Square”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

In Europe couples have to FIRST get married at city hall (one of many buildings in this square) BEFORE they get married. I know...right? The detail of the woodwork was great. Don't forget to get a picture of the water fountain.

“Must Must Must See!!”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

In Frankfurt for the Book Fair I was not planning on any sightseeing but with 8 hours to wander before heading to the airport I jumped on a tram...for FUN!!
So glad I did as I past this by and then got off at the next stop and walked back
This old historical town square is a must see.
Stunning buildings...fabulous to see them preserved....and especially watching the bulldozers working to demolish buildings behind the square.
Just sit on the bench seats and watch for a while... the pigeons will enjoy your company... or enjoy a coffee at one of the cafes. I also found some lovely little shops tucked in and around the square beofre wandering down to the river...just 100m away.

Awesome place....do not leave without visiting the 'old' Frankfurt town square.

Reviewed October 8, 2012

it's one of the most important squares in frankurt, with the townhall, a statue of justicia, some old houses.
just around the corner: the river main (nice to sit and people watch), the frankfurter dom, museum for contemporary art MMK and museum schirn.

“Great town square. Tons of souvenir shops, too.”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

We visited Roemer a few times during our stay in Frankfurt. The architecture (which is mostly rebuilt from WWII damage) is great. It's a small town square, but definitely fun to walk around. Most of the buildings have souvenir shops in them and the prices seemed decent. A few of the stores will issue paperwork for VAT refunds, so ask around before you buy anything if that's important for you.
