“Perfect location, but be warned about the bathrooms....”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

We were in Frankfurt for the Buchmesse (Book Fair) and managed a late-ish booking at the hotel but the room couldn't have been better positioned. Second floor (so the stairs are a good option as the lift is tiny and slow) and on the back of the building so so street noise. As we were a couple of girls sharing a room, the open bathroom (don't panic, the toilet has a door) wasn't too much of an issue, but if you're sharing with someone you need to retain some modesty with, then this isn't for you. Breakfast in the restaurant and room service were very good and reasonably priced, wifi also reliable. Positioned half way between the main train station and the book fair. Staff were great (with the small exception of removing the bacon off the top of the scrambled eggs then returning the same plate of eggs to the vegetarian with the bacon grease still on the plate!)

Room Tip: On the back, away from the road

I spent one night in Flemings Hotel Frankfurt-Messe and was very pleased with its location, service and facilities. My room was spacious, had a nice glass shower and luckily was overlooking the courtyard, which means I could sleep with opened window and did not have any noise coming to my room (which was bit of issue of my other colleagues).

Location is great, just 2 minutes from main train station and easy walk to Fairgrounds, there are several restaurants around the hotel as well as very nice restaurant in-house. I did not have chance to try dinner, but breakfast was excellent and very nicely presented. Staff very service-minded, smiling and serving everything very promptly.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking courtyard

This hotel is very well placed, very easy to get to using the train straight from the airport and once there the town centre is about 15min walk away so everything's within easy reach. The rooms are a good size - very clean and modern (though the glass shower wall could be alarming for the shy!) The bar and restaurant staff were fast and friendly. Lots of choice at breakfast and though the hotel was busy we were never kept waiting. All in all I would recommend it and would stay there again.

This hotel was chosen for location reasons by my travel agent, several other hotels were already full and i needed to be close to the Messe (Conference/Event Centre) just down the road.
I arrived late, around 12am, and had to wait 5 mins for a receptionist to appear but no problem,i still had a room (unlike a colleague at another nearby hotel!) and got settled.
Two problems i experienced were the amount of street noise outside, cars, trams and police/ambulance/fire sirens noise (was there a fire station nearby ?), the rumble of the trams was quite pronounced, surely there could be some better sound-proofing ? The other niggle was the TV location....on a side table, so if you want to watch TV in bed you have to lye on your side ! not terribly comfortable, why not just mount it on the wall like every other hotel ?
After a disturbed nights sleep i went down to breakfast which was fine, it felt like i was in a small cafe, plenty of choice, service was good.
This place is only a 10-15 min walk to the Messe so ideal if thats your destination.
Would i come back ? This place was 191 euros including breakfast, perhaps this is the going rate for such a hotel in Frankfurt but considering the overall comfort of my stay i'd rather find somewhere cheaper for similar standard, there was a Welcom hotel just outside the city where my friend was bumped to, this was much cheaper, newer and quieter, next time i'll go there.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms overlooking the street.

I stayed at this hotel for more than two weeks during the 2006 World Cup and chose it again because it was excellent the first time. I was glad to see that nothing had changed.

The staff are unbelievably helpful. There are (just a few) stairs from the street to reception. If they see you hauling large bags up and down, they'll quickly dash over to offer help. Service is also first class in the rooms and the restaurant.

The location is also excellent as you are just a short walk from Frankfurt's Hauptbahnhof (main train station) and if you choose a taxi to the airport it won't cost you too much. You are also close to a lot of good restaurants. Many of them are in nearby Kaiserstrasse. (That's also Frankfurt's Red Light District but don't be put off by that because it's quite a safe area with no more annoyances than you would get anywhere else.)

You can sometimes hear noise from other rooms at Fleming's but it's muffled so it's not a big problem. The rooms are clean and the buffet breakfast is really good too. It's better value than a lot of other hotels where breakfast might not be included.

One tip: make sure you understand how the shower works before you need to use it. It's modern and operates in a way I've not seen anywhere else.

Finally, two other things that I love about Fleming's. Firstly, you get free internet; secondly, the lighting in the hotel corridors shows each individual room number on the carpet outside the door. Very cool :-)

We stayed at Fleming's in Dec. 2011. Location is good - a 2 minute walk to Hauptbahnhof (main train station) and 10 - 15 minute walk to the city center. The immediate area around the hotel is also pretty decent, although the red light district is only a few blocks away. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and polite. They all also spoke English really well. There is a nice bar and restaurant in the hotel lobby area as well. Rooms are good - if you travel frequently in Europe you know that "4-star" can mean a lot of things, so I'm happy to report that Fleming's is on the upper end of that range. The showers are all glass, so keep that in mind (anyone in the room can see you - this wasn't a big deal for me). Beds are so-so, but that's common in Europe. Everything is really clean, and the comforters are great. Parking is very secure and only 15 euros per day, not too bad. Or you can take your chances and park on the street for free. What really bumps this hotel up, for me, is the free wifi and the awesome free breakfast. These are big plusses in Europe where wifi is not typically free, and breakfast can be 18+ euros per person, and isn't even that good. Fleming's has a big variety of foods to choose from - eggs, ham, bacon, cereal, fruits, cold cuts, breads, pastries, jams, juices, coffee, tea, bottled waters, salads, etc. All included and as much as you want. And it's very tasty as well. Between breakfast and wifi you can save a good 30+ euros per day. Add the fact that the hotel has really reasonable rates, and I would definitely recommend Fleming's and would stay there again.

Room Tip: All rooms are pretty similar.
