On a Tuesday night Paulaner was the busiest place in the Square. I had a late dinner. The cooked kale & sausages were a traditional German winter food, and OK, especially with the fresh-tasting Hefeweisse wheat beer. Unfortunately the service spoiled the potentially nice "Bierstube experience". The mood of the place was anxious; especially one waitress was in a bad mood and did not hide it, neither from her peers (which she kept snapping at) nor from the clients, dashing around making a scene of being busy. Some others were flegmatic. There was well enough staff to serve the clientele, had their process been in order.
The bad experience culminated in a bill which was double the price of what I had. I paid it without thinking but luckily started to rethink on my way out. The money was returned with apologies, but the aftertaste was bitter nevertheless.
