“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2013

Good location for easy access to the main Station. Neighbourhood not the greatest. Upon arrival the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, however once we reached the room our perception of the hotel had changed. The room was spacious and relatively clean however reeked of cigarette smoke, to the point that we had to have all the windows open, which is not desirable in the middle of Winter. The room was very cold even prior to having the windows open. There is a heater in the room but it did not make much difference. Thankfully we were only spending one night here.

This small hotel is conveniently located close to the main station and approx. 20 min. walking distance to the center. The area is a bit dodgy, not what I would call dangerous but a single female might differ. The lobby and reception area are tiny and the staircase and corridor could use some fresh paint. My room however was very clean, although basic, and the double glazed windows did a good job of keeping street noise out. Breakfast and Wifi are at an extra charge. Parking the car in the area is not an obvious thing. Although the staff are friendly and helpful, this place really lacks charm. It's OK for an overnighter and if splurging on one of the fancier Frankfurt hotels makes no sense to you, but nothing more.

I enjoyed this hotel, although it feels more like a business oriented hotel then a traveler oriented hotel. Nothing wrong with that, however. The staff were very professional and helpful. The room I had was very pleasant. I had plenty of space and the bed was very comfortable. I could hear the people in the room above me sometimes, and it could be bit loud at times. But, it wasn't often. It wasn't enough to complain about, put it that way.

I booked online, and got a decent price. I had to pay for breakfast and internet, which worked out perfectly fine. The breakfast was fairly good, although I have had much better. The internet worked very well and was cheap: 3 Euros for 24 hours of internet.

The location was decent. It's very close to the train station. Extremely close, actually. The street that this hotel is on is pretty good, but for the most part, this is a rougher area. The Red Light District is very close, and the train station seems to be a hang out for a rougher, drunker, drug influenced crowd, if you know what I mean. But, I had no problems at all. The S-Bahn and U-Bahn station is at the train station, which is good. Most of the main tourist sites are a bit of a distance from the hotel, although still walkable. To get to the old town, I would say, was about a 30 minute walk. But, the trains were so easy to take, and a day pass relatively inexpensive so it is no problem getting anywhere in the city quickly.

All in all, it was a good experience. I would use the hotel again and would recommend it to friends.

Well....first of all hats off to the concierge who accommodated us very nicely once we chugged in with our cases from a bumpy PM flight from Paris. He was soooo welcoming and gave us a very nice snug room. Clean and very quiet with contemporary settings of my kind. Breakfast was great with a lovely clean sitting area. Mind you, I ususally stay at 5-stars only, but this one was a diamond in the ruff. I also was impressed with their business center, as I communicated with my family in Philadelphia with no signals lost. The best was the concierge's ability to inform us of various bus tours--we choose Heidelberg; whereas, the pickup was nearby and very nice driver. Taking a walk to the bar across the road was soooo convenient. Shopping at Pimkie was like another H&M. Will always stay here when in Frankfurt. Thank for such a kind welcome.

Room Tip: We booked in advance and asked for a high floor. Unfortunately, I choose a date as close as possibl...

Located in a quiet area, close to the railway station and to the Frankfurt Messe - within walking distance (5-10min); with plenty of small family restaurants around the hotel where you can have a very nice authentic dinner at reasonable prices. Is also relatively close to Frankfurt downtown (20-25min walk)
Staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast good and offers variety, there is a PC with free internet in the lobby. There is also available wireless Internet for 3 EUR but this will offer you 24hours of Internet -which can be enough for 3-6days.
Room cleaning done everyday. Rooms has a safe inside
There are also some cons: rooms are small and have poor illumination. Lobby is kind of small, there is no luggage room (you leave it to them to keep it on the hallway). Room and hotel is not large enough to spend your time inside.
Overall, I would conclude that provides decent stay for a short 2-3 days stay for business purposes (exhibitions and such) or budget vacation (sightseeing)

Room Tip: Decent stay for a short stay for business or sightseeing

the reception clerk is nice.
NO air conditioner.
also there is a eletric fan, the room in the top floor is hot in the summer.
the apparatus which fixed the shower nozzle is broken.
we stay for 3 nights. the night before we check out, one of us found out that the money in her luggage is disappeared.

Room Tip: there are better choices than Columbus
