Following the complete renovation of the building, the location itself is worth seeing. Changing exhibits are interesting and the main collection includes some great pieces.

The museum has a collection of interesting models on multiple floors. And really, that's it, there doesn't seem to be a very clear cohesion between the different models and expositions. It could've been so much better!

the top floor is the best of this small museum as it has some of the significant buildings in frankfurt in amongst some fairly average models. The problem is one of visibility - hard to see all aspects of the models as there are no mirrors behind the clever dioramas and if you get too close to peer into some of the more complex and spectacular "never built" models, the guards suggest you back off - too close and in danger of damaging the fragile constructions. The curatorial notes are in english and german.
I went there with a discount from the frankfurt card (good value in itself as so many of the museums are part of it).

I went to this museum thinking that it was a history of German architecture but found out that in fact it was an exhibition of architectural models.Had i known that i would not have bothered to pay 7 euros for the entrance fee. There were narratives in english.however i found much of the description couched in a manner that would only be understood by an architect.I am interested in the bauhaus school and was extremly disappointed that there was nothing relating to this.there is a model and an extract from a film of the Nazi era which was the sole item of interest in the whole museum.A sad waste of time and money

Though the museum has 4 or 5 floors, I left with a feeling that I missed something big, nothing really stood out. It's a good waste of time on a rainy day, but otherwise boring. If you are in the field of Architecture, you'll most certainly enjoy it more than I have.
