I had not realised the extent of the Jewish history in Frankfurt. The museum had displays of how the Jewish parts of Frankfurt would have looked centuries ago as well as providing info on the influence that Jewish culture had on Germany and Europe generally.

Not alot of English translation in the stuff displayed it is more about the original jewish familys of Frankfurt.

Huge museum, beautiful building but the exhibition needs updating: the descriptions are way too long and they should be in english too - *next* to the displays, not in those unhandy plastic sheets for borrowing at the entrance of each room.

The museum is relatively small, but the amount of presented information is very impressive. The entrance fee is 8 euro if I remember right, but I just happened to be there on the day all museums were free of charge. Very lucky! There is no information in English next to the exhibits, but you can find a few stands with English booklets. So if you are willing to spend a couple of hours in the museum, take time to sit down and read the booklets. I learned a lot about the history of Jewish community in Frankfurt as well as some interesting facts about their traditions. There's also a nice little cafe inside.
