As it was a Sunday when we were here we only allowed access to the entrance of the cathedral itself, though it did look good through the bars of the entrance. We did though get to climb the tower (approx 400 steps) and the effort was well worth it, the views were fantastic and as it was a good clear day we could see a very long distance.

Quaint churches and cathedrals abound throughout Germany and the rest of Europe. Unless it is a particularly memorable edifice, such as Notre Dame de Paris, il Duomo di Milano, or Westminster Abbey of London, they're pretty much all the same.

Dom is so lovely during the summer. If you are in the city, it is nice to stop by and visit to see the architecture and the colorful church. It is easy to walk there as it's in the center. One of the historical spots you should not miss.
