“Quiet, clean and a good location”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Hotel Villa Orange is situated a 15 min walk from the Zeil street and the inner centre of the city (and that is if you are a slow walker), and it is in a quiet, clean and beautiful neighbourhood with town houses and apartments, with lot of small, delicious restaurants around.
The hotel itself is impeccably clean, room are spacious, service is very good. Bathroom is perfectly clean and towels are changed every day.
Bio-breakfast is OK, there are a lot of choices, only remark is that they don't serve warm milk, you have to ask for it to be heated.
There is an elevator and it works, but it is old and small (barely 2 people with small luggage cases can fit into it). Also, although it has a lift, in order to enter the establishment (i.e. the reception) one has to climb a few stairs so it is not feet for people in wheelchair.

The hotel is located in a residential area within walking distance to the city. It's a small hotel, focusing on bio/wholesome food.
The staff is not welcoming and any request is too much effort. The first room had a window which wouldn't shut properly. The response from front desk was that all their windows close. After much insisting I was provided with another room that was located under the roof. Anyone tall would hardly be able to stand up properly.
Breakfast and lunch selection were poor. Limited choice, empty dishes...
I would not stay in the hotel again, as there are plenty of other small hotels that offer better service and value for money.

While the area is not scenic, the hotel was a nice find. The staff were efficient and friendly. My room was large with two beds, a couch, and a very modern bathroom with both shower and tub.

It was reasonably quiet and priced. I'd stay there again.

The hotel:
Though situated just out of the downtown shopping area, the hotel is, nevertheless, convenient and easily accessible via both the U4 Merianplatz and U5 Musterschule subway stops. (U5 is a bit closer, with luggage it took 10 minutes, without, 5)

It is in a residential area so is quite quiet at night. It's also been filled with business people, who crave some quiet at night and get it! I felt quite safe walking to the hotel once the sun went down; it seemed to be locals on the streets.

Check-in:
You have to be buzzed in, a little odd at first but then felt rather secure and special, sort of like a private club. Check in was fast and efficient, with a plate of chocolates to nibble on, English and German language newspapers and friendly staff.

You are asked to leave your room key, yes a KEY. with the front desk when you leave for the day and pick it up when you return. There is someone at the desk 24/7. It felt very old world and sort of nice.

The room:
I have a basic room and it was very nice. Spotlessly clean, a very comfortable full sized-bed, comfy chair, as well as desk and chair. There is a wardrobe for hanging clothes and a dresser. This room also had a balcony upon which to sit and enjoy a tea of coffee (both in the room with an actual water kettle!) Two people could easily share this room. When you want to lock yourself away for the night, the windows have rolling jalousie that block out all light...and a lot of sound.

Good wireless signal (free!), TV channels from multiple international broadcasters, good lighting and nice, hardwood floors.

The bathroom:
Again, clean, efficient and a heater that doubles as the towel warmer...heaven. There is a soap dispenser for sink and shower and a handheld option for the shower. The lighting was very good and the white and blue tile scheme was fresh feeling. AND, there was a small balcony off the bathroom, too! The door also had a rolling jalousie to block out the light. The door glass itself is frosted and private.

Restaurant:
A very good, European breakfast buffet was included and delicious! The space is very nice, bright and kept spotless. The array of food was great: soft boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, Organic yoghurts, cereals and fruits, a large variety of delicious breads with honey, jam, etc. Of course, there is coffee, but for us tea drinkers is a tempting assortment of organic teas...and you make you tea in small pots. It's a detail that makes a difference.

The lobby:
small but inviting with two side area in which to escape. There is a small library that feels like home.

The experience:
Everything was excellent, from the front desk staff, to room tidying to the breakfasts, nothing went amiss. Above all was a feeling of welcome. No one was put out by a request and there was no false "my pleasure," simply the feeling that everyone was glad you are there.

Room Tip: They all seem nice but the rooms with balconies are pretty cool.

On arrival at Frankfurt airport you need a taxi to get to the hotel, i had printed the address off so just handed this to the driver. Once we got to the hotel - about 6.30pm (it was dark), the area dosnt look particularly nice, hotel opposite isnt where you would be wanting to stay. Hotel is locked so you need to buzz to get in., reception were expecting me and it was a quick and efficient check-in. Lift to my room on 3rd floor, smallish room with bathroom, i was at the top of the stair so i didnt feel particulary "safe" but ensured the door was locked at all times.
tea/coffee in the room, TV but no english channels, large bathroom but unfortuantley a wonky shower head so i soaked the entire place the 1st shower i took. Small bed (3/4 size) with i pillow.

Breakfast was good, plenty of choice, samll bar area bit served a decent glass ogf wine, no evening meals so be prepared to go and find something. 1st night I walked to an Italian at the top of the street opposite the Police sation - very nice and the owners very accommodating, 2nd nice I crossed the road to an italian "cafe" type place, again very nice.

As I was there on business, getting to the Messe meant a taxi - at approx 20 Euro so i would prefer to be closer.

On the plus side Free WIFI in the hotel

All in all it was a nice stay but for me I would prefer to be closer to restaurants/bars and te messe

Stayed at Villa Orange over a weekend for a friend's birthday. The hotel is very clean and tidy, and service was friendly and efficient. The centre of town as a modest walk away. The beds are very comfortable, and there are heavy shutters on the windows, thus affording a superb nights sleep. Wifi is free, with reasonable reception in the rooms. Breakfast each morning was bountiful, and eggs are available on request.

We stayed at this hotel during our business trip.Clean and comfortable nice boutique hotel. The decoration is warm feeling like you are at home.Their michelin star breakfast is suggested .The location is just perfect near to U band and famous shopping street ZEIL. Only the staff might be more friendly except ome of them was very nice to us.Price is reasonable comparing the others during the exhibition in Frankfurt.
