“Pretty ropey...”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

It's in a nice quiet area. There, I started with something positive. The rest is pretty ropey. Tiny rooms, zero comfort or luxury - the thinest of duvets, a pillow that is more air than support, tired decor that hasn't changed in years, the meanest, thinest , scratchiest towels, some rubbish toiletries, a tiny shower, the smell of smoke from the smoking rooms and a man on reception with a big cigar, and an antique television, though with 3 minutes of free porn. Wow, I finished on something positive too.

Stayed in a single room here late summer 2013. It was basic but clean and functional. Similarly the breakfast was plain but nice. Reception staff were varied (as reflects previous comments) - some were cheerful and helpful, some less so.

The hotel is well located in a clean, safe area. The parallel street has U-bahn stations, shops (including supermarkets) and restaurants.

It's a small, simple hotel located in a quiet street in Bockenheim area of Frankfurt. It can be easily reached with the metro or the tram 16 from the Central Train Station. I stayed one night and I booked it via booking.com. I requested a single room but upon arrival they offer me a twin (without requesting it). I appreciated that because the single rooms are smaller. I stayed on the 3rd floor. Both receptionists I met were nice though a little slow at service.
Breakfast was good, though breakfast room was small.
Overall it’s a nice small 3* hotel and the prices for the low season (when there aren’t any exhibitions) are reasonable but they get extremely high in times of exhibitions.

I am on a long trip around Europe and every night I stay in a different hotel. For the price you can get many variations of indifferent - but not this one. There is an attention to detail in the place. It is an old hotel in a residential neighborhood and at night is very quiet. The staff were all completely nice. They smiled - they were efficient. It is very quiet and is perfect for a business traveller. The free wifi is a lot to navigate after a long day - but it works. The breakfast was much better than usual for a place like this. I can absolutely recommend this place.

In general it is a nice hotel, don't expect to much for the price, people that work there, they won't do anymore for what they are pay, means, service is not so good, don't wait for a smile.

Nice breakfast, well located and in a very quiet area.

clean and secure.

Nice and clean and quite location but staff didn't seem to be happy in their job and you weren't made to feel welcome. Room was clean but mini bar was not fully stocked even though the bar list showed that it was, unable to block out external light source and therefore wake up early. WiFi was free and fast

I booked my family into this hotel for the weekend just gone - 55 euros for a single, 75 for a double. I specifically said no breakfast was required when I made the booking. It is 5 minutes from my house and seemed nice and clean, which is why I booked it.
The day after checking out my father informed me he had been charged for 3 breakfasts and a drink from the mini bar which he hadn't had (he had 1 but had been charged for 2). The other room I booked for my aunt and uncle had also had breakfast booked against it for 2 people. Yes, they all should have checked when they checked out, but as they checked out at 5 a.m I could not see how they could have been charged for a breakfast which wasn't available until 6 or 6.30, so I decided to pop in and see what had happened.
The man on reception clearly had a problem with me even daring to question why breakfast had been charged for, huffing and puffing and taking his time looking through various folders and his computer. He then claimed that the breakfast is included in the price of the room and in a raised voice asked me to explain what my problem was. I told him there was no need to get aggressive, that it was a simple question that I had asked, but as he was being confrontational that I would never book anyone in there again (I live in Frankfurt and have regular visitors). Combined with the extra drink being charged for and the attitude taken with me I can only assume that these guys are trying to pull a fast one on unsuspecting tourists and being caught out by a German speaking English girl threw them. I was happy to admit that we may have made a mistake, that I may have misunderstood (he didn't go out of his way to explain that breakfast is included, just that 'the computer adds it on') but the guy's confrontational tone and raised voice was unacceptable. Never, ever, ever will I book with them again and I will be informing the local tourist board.
