“As a Spanish person I am very sory that this kind of places exist and they call themselves tapas bar”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

The place looks completely dull and lacks of charm or personality. The staff thought that saying a couple of words in spanish means to be friendly, but they were kind of dry and not very proffesional. The food was far worse than average: the chorizo al infierno was uneatable, croquetas were dry and cold, sepia was not fresh and the sides in the main courses were just like a joke. Not to mention the bread was from the bag.
All in all a really bad experience I wish not other people have to go throug

“Great Spanisch food. Great service and atmosphere”
Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

Really great Spanish food in a truely genuine atmosphere paired with perfect service. My new favorite Spanish restaurant in Frankfurt. Reservation recommended as there are not that many tables.

“The best food and the best service in Frankfurt!!!”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

I absolute agree with previous reviews of this restaurant. The food was fantastic. The owner suggest great appetizers and wine. The paella was one of the best I ever tried.
We came with our kids and they were extremely friendly and truly they made us feel like at home. I would recommend this restaurant to all our friends.

“It is hard to be genuine, and this place makes you feel at home”
Reviewed March 22, 2012

In many restaurants, you need a carefully choice of the internal furniture and a lot of attention to details to create a particular atmosphere. In some others, on the contrary, the passion of the owner, his willingness to makes the customer happy and food of very good quality can be enough to create a special atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed and, eventually, happy. Espanita enters for sure in this last category. It is a small restaurant, a bit hidden in the east side of Sachsenhausen. The fried and grilled tapas were superbe, and so was the fish paella. The owner, Juan Carlos, takes personal care of the welfare of the customer, and you can quickly realize that he loves his job. Given the limited space it is highly suggested to make a reservation.
