A very nice typical German restaurant. The problem is that they are not flexible and you must choose among the dishes in the menu. Taste the potato soup!!! It's incredible!!!

“Informal, friendly restaurant”
Reviewed October 8, 2013 via mobile

Had a good meal at this popular, casual restaurant. Very efficient and friendly service. Had potato soup and roast pork with herb dumplings. Both very good. Salzkammer is a nice choice if you're looking for an inexpensive restaurant in central Frankfurt.

“Excellent snitchel!”
Reviewed June 28, 2013 via mobile

We liked the food and the atmosphere. Both soups (tomato and veal) were very good. I had a great snitchel and my husband a plate with mince, bacon and egg( very good as well). Main courses were a bit late. The prices are reasonable.

“Pleasant Surprize”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We stumbled across this restaurant by accident when we were looking for another one we'd found on Trip Advisor. The prices didn't look too bad and it was quite busy so we decided to give it a try. The service was very prompt and friendly and we didn't feel rushed at all. We had an austrian white wine that the waitress recommended that was very good. My husband had potato soup which he said was excellent and he also had the traditional wiener schnitzel (medium portion - two good sized pieces). I had their specialty schnitzel (Salzkammergut) which was turkey breast stuffed with ham cheese and dried cherries then breaded in an almond crumb coating. The meal was excellent and served piping hot. The meal cost 48.30 Euros.

“Apfelwein”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

We walked in and saw the average age of 45 or 50 and that's quite a bit older than we are (18 and 20). Still the first impression was positive so we thought we'd give it a try. The waiter recommended us to try the classic apple-wine which is common in the state "Hessen" where Frankfurt is located. We did, and it is quite good. We ordered the "Geschnetzeltes vom Lam mit Rösti-Kartoffeln" and "Spargelsuppe" with an Cappuchino as desert. My fried ordered "Weißwürste" and a Latte Macchiato as desert. We both had an apple wine. All together we were at 43€ (incl. 10% tip) so we didn't think that was too bad. The restaurant was booked out for this evening. We were moved to the bar at 6pm because our table was reserved. Another proof of quality as I think. Just have to say, the food might be a little salty or heavy but good. Typical german food. "Herzhafte ländliche Küche" as we would say in German.
