“There is bed bug and no ventilation system in the bathroom”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013 via mobile

Good location but the room is old and quite small. There may be bed bug! when i went bed, only several seconds i got ichy skins on my legs. there is no ventilation system in the bathroom. So the room is very humid and the smell can not go away after you go to the bathroom.:(
The people in the front desk is not so nice. When I checked in they give me the most noisy room onthe first floor facing the tram track(only 2meters from my bed). When I request to change they only offer the room I mentioned above. It is not recommended at all if you prefer clean room and pleasant stay in Frankfurt

Stayed for a night on a family trip, I had stayed there before and I knew what I would get... and got it... the hotel is aged and a renovation is needed (elevators, parking, rooms, etc.) , but apart from that; everything went well and we got everything right away when asked, the hotel has quite busy but the receptionists where professional and helpful, the hotel location can not be better! just cross the street from the main railway station. the internet is free and fast, the room supplies are enough the minibar is free!
the only unfair and expensive cash grab is parking, 20€ per night is crazy for staying guests...
I might stay on my next trip to Frankfurt...

Across from the main railway station, the location of the Excelsior suited our needs perfectly. The staff were very accomodating. Without charge we were allowed to store our baggage while we journeyed up the Rhine a few days later. There was no hesitatation when we asked to switch rooms because of cigarette odor. Breakfast with a bountiful array of food was excellent. The hotel was within walking distance to the downtown, the river Main and Old Town. When we returned from St. Goar we picked up our stored luggage and headed by train to the airport.

Room Tip: If desired, insist on a non smoking room.Check it out before settling in. Although windows in our ro...

This hotel is reasonably priced, and it is located just across the street from the main railway station. So you do not need more than S-bahn to arrive from the airport, take the correct side exit, cross the street, and you are in the hotel. You can walk to downtown areas (avoid the two "red light" streets), and come by walking, or you can use trams, U-bahn, S-bahn to arrive in no time to any point in Frankfurt, as you hotel is just at the transport hub.

Hotel rooms are clean and well furnished (European size = small, but functional), the breakfast is excellent, the staff helpful.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be very good. They have non-smoking rooms, if you are not a smoker, ask for it.

We stayed for five nights and were very pleased with the food especially. The breakfast catered for all different nationalities and the staff kept making sure there was always plenty there. The rooms are basic but clean. We were at the back of the hotel so it wasn't noisy, as some had said to the front. If you want any English speaking news, channel 34 is BBC world news and 37 is CNN. The hotel provides tea, coffee, cake and apples in the reception area from 11am to 7pm. There is a bar and restaurant in the adjacent Monopol hotel which is very relaxing. Everything is so near especially the train station and trams. It's a little stroll to the Main river which is very pleasant and a 10-15 minute walk to the old town.

Room Tip: Rooms at back are quieter

Though the rooms are a bit small, they are Clean and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located and have courteous staff. Buffet break is pretty decent with a lot of options to choose from. Being an Indian, I was delighted to find a lot of Indian restaurants and stores in the locality. On the whole we had a very pleasent stay.
