The house part is fairly nice but quite limited to furniture and a few pieces. It feels like there should be more to this collection. The pieces in e modern addition are worthless.

This large museum boasts another example of beautiful museum architecture in Frankfurt — see the photos — and when we visited, they had three fascinating shows, the first of which was a large exhibition on Korean design that set it within the context of the countries history and had many interesting traditional and modern objects. By far the wildest exhibition was devoted to the works of Alexander McQueen and other out fashion designers of the 80s who designed fantasy fantastic clothing that no one could ever wear but which was fun to look at. The exhibit rooms were designed to be as crazy as the fashion, which was fun, and good film about a Japanese designer one of the best parts as an unusually. The last exhibition, 1607, combined both fantasy and down-to-earth objects: the operating conceit was that a (fictional) ship belonging to a (fictional) collector of both Asian and Western artworks sunk and archeologists just discovered it, so the rooms juxtaposed beautiful examples of 17C-art works from China and Europe, etc. The shows change, of course, but the ones we shaw give some idea of the daring with which the museum conceived and organizes them.
