“best sushi”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2012

especially for lunch, and if you go a little later than the business hours, it is the best quality and best value lunch in town (with emphasis on the quality). I believe I have tried most sushi restaurants in Frankfurt, I would say that this is probably my favorite...

“terrible does not cover it..”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2012

We love Japanese food & take the chance to eat it wherever possible. Teppanyaki is always expensive, but usually worth the price for the quality of service & preparation of fresh food by an experienced well trained chef making for an enjoyable experience. EXPENSIVE is the only part that fits with this disaster of a restaurant. Going along with business colleagues for their first experience - we could not have chosen worse. We were not shown to our table, just pointed & left to wander. We had to get up & get our own menus. No-one spoke to us for 40 minutes when we had to go & find someone to order drinks. Only 2 of 6 were drinking beer - the others asked for STILL water - were given a bottle of sparkling by a waitress who pretended not to understand. When we finally got to order food our colleagues only request for no mushrooms was ignored & thrown into the rice before we could stop them. The chef through a huff (an old miserable man). The waiter was scared to correct him & we were left sitting for another 30 minutes without food. Thinking they would correct the mistake, they managed to get the main course wrong again. The people opposite asked for the steak raw - but the chef insisted on cooking to his liking. The terrible service is the worst I have ever come across . After 2.5 hours we had eaten a small bowl of rice, finally a few stirred fried vegetables & a few beers between 2 persons. We did not think they would even want to charge us for what could not have cost more than 10 euros of food, but the bill they presented was 400 euro!! We could not believe it & demanded a reduction, but they would not even consider it! I offered 300 euro - much more than I would expect to pay still & we came to large arguments (it appeared the waitress who did not understand about the water - could hear clearly when we were talking about money!). This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to - they do not care about your food or service - only money. AVOID by all means necessary.

“MyZeil Iroha”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2010

Okay, there are two Irohas in Frankfurt. The main one is targetted towards business people. It is expensive and it is slow in service. The one i want to write about is the one close to My Zeil. That one is worth the visit if you happen to be a sushi fan. It used to be called, Sushi Boy until they decided to rebrand it back to their "mothership" Iroha. Either way, I am a big fan. They make the most delicious and sumptuous sushis. We have tried nearly every type of sushi there over the years. What surprised me once I got through the sushis, were the "other dishes". They are good too! If you happen to spot any Japanese families, they tend to order the non-sushi versions and they order the most interesting type of side dishes. We tried quite a number of them, but have not got through them all yet. For those sushi lovers (esp. if you love a bit of mayonaise and avocado in your sushi), this will please your taste bud like nothing else.

“Teppanyaki! Remember to...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2009

Remember to book ahead since there about 20 seats around 2 teppan tables.
If you want to experience seeing an old japanese chef preparing your meals right in front of you this is the place!

Excellent prawns and Kobe-beef.
