Clean rooms

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 11, 2017
The hostel is super close to the train station which makes it ideal for backpackers. This said, it is also in the middle of Frankfurt's Red Light District. This means the locations a little sketchy but I never felt unsafe. The hostel does a good job of making sure only guests can enter. The luggage room didn't feel very secure so I was very glad that I was able to check-in early. If you do leave your luggage in there I definitely wouldn't leave anything of value in your bag. The room (we had a double) was clean and had good furnishings. The lobby was also nice, although quiet. We had a cheap pizza there that wasn't great but we also only paid 5 Euro for 2 people. I would recommend this to backpackers passing through Frankfurt.

Thank you for your review! It is nice to hear that you recommend our Hostel!
We also have cages in the basement, where you can store your luggage and which you can also lock. Of course our prices for drinks and food are not too expensive, because we know how it is when you're traveling ;)
See you next time!

Locationwise and if you are on the move through Germany this has to be one of the most convenient hostels in Europe, being as it is within meters of Frankfurt main rail station. The free (brewed, not instant) coffee and free bread rolls (leftover from breakfast, but absolutely fine) are both great customer service and remarkably helpful. The price is quite competitive, all things considered. The ground floor living room is bright and comfortable. Now for the downside... The area around Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof is extraordinarily rough, being packed with obviously disreputable late night entertainment venues, populated by a striking number of people with severe social integration challenges and generally dismal in addition to being ugly. Having arrived in daylight I found the neighbourhood repulsive; I guess navigating the street this hostel is on after dark would actually take a measure of courage. With hindsight I would have happily paid the price difference and stayed in a Youth Hostel, or even in an another city, as anywhere else in Germany, in my experience, will look vastly more wholesome than Frankfurt's red light district does.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay here!
All in all, it sounds like you had a good time within the hostel but that the only thing we seem to be doing wrong is to be located in an area which does not look like the image you had about Germany. Sorry for that!
As we always say, the area does look weird at first sight, but it is not dangerous at all! I have been personally here for 4 years and all this time have not had one single case of staff being harassed or abused in the streets. And the only guests who have had trouble in this area were themselves looking for drugs or any other substances, which means not being the smartest travelers anyways.
Even if the area looks weird, you are still in Germany, which is one of the safest places on Earth right now. And going out will allow you to experience it, realize it and eventually try one of the best restaurants of the city or the coolest bars of the town, they are all around the corner ;)
Safe travels!

The beds are ok, the facilities are mediocre and you have to pay for breakfast (decent value).

While I stayed in he hostel there were only súper boring people, but i suspect it was the upcoming trade show that was the cause. Some of the staff were good.

Location was good... it is in the red light district so a bunch of brothels around it so if you're with a family you may not want this spot.

I'd rather not stay here again... for that matter I don't think I'll visit Frankfurt again either.

Thanks for the review! Too bad you did not like a few stuff here nor the city. You are right, the world is big and I would not come back to a place I did not like.
Here is a quote from a famous German writer, thought it could be inspiring ;)

I usually wait until I check out to do reviews but this hostel is incredible. A free really good breakfast, activities every day, cool, helpful staff, good bar (and good HH), right next to Central station, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! And no I don't work here haha
