This is a must place to see for those interested in Art and Architeture . The Artist colony was home to such famous designers as Beter Behrens ; Joserh Maria Olbrich and Albin Muller .
Surprisingly few Germans I met knew of it or it's significance in the developement of German design and decorative arts.
I made a point of going there and was not dissapointed. I think for those intending to go to Germany they should look up the Darmstardt Artist Colony and include it in their itinery.

This is a large exhibition area with a museum, exhibition hall and the "wedding tower". It also boasts a real consecrated Russian chapel, used by the last Russian Czar who was related to the local gentry in Darmstadt.
Note: several of the houses surrounding the hill are the former residences of the artists of the initial exhibitions in early 1900, and are well worth looking at from the outside or (in some cases) the inside!

This is a turistic spot in Darmstadt.... I woud say that it deserves your visit because among the things you can see in Darmstadt, this would be one of the more valuables...
